Wowza Roger!

What a Show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get hyped when he just tosses me some Free songs in his solo show.  But a whole setlist :pray
I am shocked!  I'd never thought I would see that.  Never would have dreamed.

Now I know it is possible.  That just gets me full of excitement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was one very special show.  Glad it was done for the charity event with Deborah.

Even how Paul introduces "Woman" makes me Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Man that Man has Moves.

Speaking of, "I'm a Mover" so belongs in a club setting with its nasty, gritty sound.
Oh, I need a DVD of this show.

Songs of Yesterday, loved seeing how the crowd really got into that song.

Thrill of a Lifetime to see him pulling out that setlist.  Gonna keep my eye out for the one he sang with Deborah.  I love when they team up.

Thank You Roger,
So Happy you got to experience that smile

by the way , there are no plans for anymore Bad Co dates after the currently announced USA ones, I asked the Mrs  about it.

Re: Paul Rodgers

Fine versions. Especially liked 'Stealer'. I can see why PR would mention Deborah Bonham's guitarist as someone who gets close to PK's sound and style. There is that loose but powerful rawness to the guys playing which is evocative of PK.

Paul's voice is in fine fine shape. He uses the mic so well and such sublime and clever phrasing. Such a professional performance for a relatively low key event.

As to the set list. Wow imdeed. Remember and Oh I wept.......I'm weeping myself at missing it For my own personal list of favourites I could only have added 'Heavy Load', 'Don't say you love me' (the only 2 missing from Fire and Water) and 'Magic Ship'.

Very envious indeed Roger.

Re: Paul Rodgers

Message from Deborah Bonham

Well what an amazing show with Paul Rodgers on Saturday with record takings to keep Willows alive and donations to Mount Noddy and Chichester Cat and Rabbit Rescue. Special big thanks to Pete who organised everything and then played an unbelievable set with me and the band. They then came back to play the best I've ever seen them with Paul on a completely FREE set. For those of us who were there it was the best yet the room was ecstatic, for those that weren't... I'm so sorry you missed a wonderful amazing night! Big big thanks to go to Paul and Cynthia Rodgers who never fail to support with all the love in the world, my band - just the best band and friends a girl could have and Elaine and Chris Fairfax of Animal Friends Insurance whose generosity is beyond belief. It has to be said that without all of my friends and family who helped including Dave and Nina Anderson, Wes Maebe (our stunning engineer) and his wife Debbie Pearce, Belinda Bullick, Hazel and David Brownlee, Stuart Muff and all the people at the Venue it wouldn't be possible. Much love to you all... and hope to see some of you next week at Milton Keynes Stables Thurs, Liverpool o2 Fri and Barnsley Birdwell Sat.. (I think I"m just about conquering the flu I got this week!) Deborah xxx

Re: Paul Rodgers

I'm probably the only one that doesn't know this, but wondering what if any relationship among Deborah, Jason and John??

After her Chichester show, we recorded an interview with Deborah in which she discusses her new album, her musical influences and growing up with Led Zeppelin. Hear it now at:http://t.co/vbE4Rblnz3

Thanks for posting the interview link Roger.

I don't often get to hear Deborah being interviewed, so it was nice to hear.  I am with her, I thought Paul sounded great with her band.  I think it is a wonderful thing they do together and love to see it's been on-going for their charities.

I see they added it for bunnies. Good to see that, as a lot of bunnies get abandoned from Easter sad.

I didn't know about her accident.   She said they checked her brain for bleeding.  That was very good.  Glad to hear she recovered well and her eye is okay.  It's a special concert they put on and it looked like an Awesome time smile

Thanks again Kenny for the interview.  I always learn something new when he does interviews.

I am going to see if there are any videos in regards to the Orchestra he worked with.

My main thing I have been checking out is the album from Memphis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I check everyday to see if anything has leaked out. Thought they wrote some new songs for it, but will just have to wait and see when it comes out.  I liked how he described the band.  Got me foaming at the mouth even if I am a Cat^-^.

That is what I want to hear, Mr. Paul Testifying!

Oh and Bad Co, definitely go out their and jam with Lynyrd Skynyrd!  I always thought Bad Company was a Country-Blues-Rock band.  Love all that is going on in the world of Paul cool

Re: Paul Rodgers

Paul and Bad Co. held a 40th year tour gig here tonight to a packed house at the Del Mar Fair. Fantastic Rocking Show, and just like a time machine. They still have it. Hour and a half set, played most all the favorite early stuff. Most of the San Diego Co. crew were in attendance. Standout songs were Seagull,  Shooting Star with an incredible sing-along and Bad Company

Ditto!   Paul still gets the "girls" going at 64. "The Voice" hasn't lost anything in the 45 years since Free formed, either vocally or stage presence. The only Bad Co. song missing of note was "Good Lovin Gone Bad". The set was a couple of songs shorter than other recent shows, something that seems common for "Fair" events, with the actual tunage clocking in at about an hour and 10.

From my seat Mick's guitar was a bit quiet, apparently not an issue from RB's vantage point. There was also a wider range of ages than Ive come to expect from 70s band shows. Some parents obviously doing a good job educating their kids in good music!

Re: Paul Rodgers

Sounds like he didn't do to bad with the "fellas" either smile

Great to hear the reports from San Diego and that you both had a good time with Bad Co.
40 years, just seems kind of surreal.  I can remember when the first Bad Co. Album came out.
I played that album so much, it didn't even make it a full year.  They needed frequent album miles back then I could have really racked up some Bad. Co. points.

That is what makes Bad Co. concerts so much Fun!  It's a big ole sing-a-long.  As much as I love to hear Paul sing, he loves sharing the singing duties with the Audience.  Of course, Shooting Star is the perfect song for this with it's Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na.  He is the master of trading off with the audience.  He lets us have our part. Then in Paul Rodger's style, he throws in his wonderful ad-libs in between.  I bow to his singing prowness.  I would love to hear them play "Good Lovin' Gone Bad" too.

But there are some Bad Company songs that you just have to hear "The Voice" sing by himself.
This is one of them.

4:20 to the end, just love it with his arm around Mick and Simon on the drums.
And from 1:32-1:45 of this clip alone, shows why he should automatically be in the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame.  Just that section alone should be in there for "Pure Control".
You Sing it Paul!

We miss you Boz. RIP
