Topic: Paul Rodgers

Congratulations  Paul Rodgers for being part of a Grammy Nominated song.

I was so hoping this would happen the first time I heard the song.  It won't happen like my dream because I was hoping you would be up onstage on the Grammy Stage for all the world to see, singing your part live.  I would have replayed that clip over and over again if that happened.  But as it is I play the song over and over again just to hear your Beautiful voice.

I loved how they sampled you in there and a whole new generation from a different genre gets to hear you.  The sampling of the lyrics you sang fit so well with the song and a new generation liked what they heard and asked constantly "Who is that singing?"  They liked what they heard and now it is Grammy Nominated.  It didn't get nominated for best rap song but it is definitely better than some of the nominations listed in that catagory.

A number of his fans thought it was the best song off the album.  So I'll be rooting for it and you tonight.

Also what else is great about the song is it would make a great piece of music for someone on "So You Think You Can Dance" to choreograph a great concept dance to.  I think they could do wonders with that song.

So here's to hoping it wins tonight.

Re: Paul Rodgers

Paul Rodgers has revealed he recently jammed with Fleetwood Mac veterans Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. He says: "What we did was just play a lot of blues. I'm a big fan of Peter Green's Mac - I used to stand in awe in blues clubs around England. They're my heroes. It's fun to do these things and see where they take you. That's not to say we're getting a band together – but who knows."

He should also jam with Joe and Gary Moore methinks. Strictly the blues though.

I love hearing that.  "What we did was just play a lot of blues"  One thing I love about Paul Rodgers is he plays with so many different musicians.

I don't know if you are aware of this, but he did a blues album called "Muddy Waters Blues"
If you don't have it, I highly recommend it.  It is one of his finest works and he plays with a who's who of guitarists including Gary Moore.

I have always hoped he would put out another blues album.  smile

Re: Paul Rodgers

I could talk about PR all night. Have seen him 36 times from Free onwards including his Muddy Water Blues comeback tour. I too would love him to do another blues album and tour.

I've got the album as well, did yours come with a second cd called Paul Rodgers The History?

No matter how far you try to push the envelope, it remains stationery

Re: Paul Rodgers

When I first got the album it was on cassette, but since then I have bought it in CD with the Bonus disc you refer to.

A long way of saying "yes"  big_smile

Re: Paul Rodgers

I did not get the "History of Paul Rodgers"  Do you know if it is sold in the U.S.?
And does it have any unreleased material?

Thank You smile

Re: Paul Rodgers

None of the 6 tracks on 'The History' are the original recordings. They all appear to be fresh recordings. The listing is:

1. All Right Now
2. Wishing Well
3. Fire & Water
4. Bad Company
5. Feel Like Makin' LOve
6. Can't Get Enough

I checked my cover and there is no specific mention of these recordings which is a shame because they are a different take. I always suspected it was the album band of Jason Bonham, Pino Palladino and Ian Hatton. They lack a little atmosphere but I never tire of hearing him sing.

No Hits, No Hype.......................Classic Rock Jan 2012

Re: Paul Rodgers

hansmike I think your assumptions regarding Pino and the rest being the band used for Disc 2 are correct.

Re: Paul Rodgers

The Great White North Welcomes Paul Rodgers

We wouldn’t blame you for associating Paul Rodgers with England. British by birth, Rodgers has fronted several legendary English bands during his multi-decade career, including Free, Bad Company and the mid-1980s group The Firm which saw him partnering with Jimmy Page. He also did the Queen + Paul Rodgers tour that ran from 2005 through 2006. So he seems British through and through.

But despite his rich associations with British rock bands, Rodgers has been living in Canada’s British Columbia province for years with his wife, a former Miss Canada.

Now he’s official Canadian, having been sworn in as one of the country’s newest citizens Oct. 21 during a public ceremony in Surrey, British Columbia.

“It may not be my native land but Canada is surely now my home,” Rodgers said in a statement. “While I’ll always be an Englishman, Canada has given me so much for which I am grateful. My wife, your former Miss Canada Cynthia Kereluk, a new and extended family and the chance to be truly free in a country that with its quiet strength combines the best of so many worlds. I’m proud to be a Canuck.”

Re: Paul Rodgers

The greatest male singer of my generation and still going strong, rumours of another Bad Company tour next year. Wouldn't it be great if Joe & Paul got together for a jam sometime, now that would be historic especially if Joe had the Kossoff les paul   wink

I,ve had the same thoughts myself having been a mad (in my much younger days) Free fan. Although Kossoff had a highly individual style, I can hear elements of his sound from Joe at certain times, especially the slower stuff and the slower quite lead into his songs. I would love to see them get together at a show or two.  smile

You are talking "in my dreams" material here, Roger62!!

My three great musical passions are Joe B., Wishbone Ash and Paul Rodgers.
I have been lucky enough to see Joe twice, WA nine times and PR three times during 2011.  cool  cool  cool
I don't think I could cope with the excitement if any two of them were on the same stage - I'd be willing to give it a try, though!!  smile  smile  smile

Yes AGREED!!  I remember Joe having a list of his favorite vocalists and the mention of Paul Rodgers. I loved to hear them perform, talk about a dream turning into reality for Joe.

And for any Paul Rodgers fans, there are a couple of pieces in inventory here and some available for custom pieces. Just FYI.  smile
