Re: No Hockey Fans This Post Season???

The next two days will bring an exciting, albeit shortened, regular season to a close.
Many teams fighting for their playoff lives. Good luck if you have a team in the hunt.
For me, I hoping the President's Cup is not the curse it has been in the past.

Two great OTs the first night, and a Quick blooper reminiscent of Marty vs the Ducks in ...03 was it? Then Giguerre comes back with a blooperful game of his own.

Re: No Hockey Fans This Post Season???

I have to admit to being a long time (drive for five) Islander fan. Nice they made the playoffs after being a doormat so long lately

Actually I love to see Tavares make an impression and take the Isles to the 2d round. My son (goalie) played against him in Calgary and he was amazing. Figures he would go to the Isles and Parise (who scored the most amazing goal on him) would start out with the Devils, unfair to a Ranger fan!! With Carolina out I don't have to worry about Sanguinetti (a former teammate), but opening against John Carlson and the Caps will bring back some memories (not all good ones)!

We wont worry about van Riemsdyk until both TO and Rangers make it that far, and Bobby Ryan and Kyle Palmieri are a distant light at the end of the tunnel!

Re: No Hockey Fans This Post Season???

I'm actually happy the Islanders are moving to Brooklyn as I now live in NJ. I was at the NY guitar show over the weekend and it was close to a two and a half hour drive

I'm FROM Brooklyn but stopped at Brennan and Carrs on the way home. I'll go there next time - thanks!

Re: No Hockey Fans This Post Season???

Sitting through the remaining minutes of Penguins game now. Not really a fan of any team, (Was a Whaler Fan) just like hockey and playoff hockey is better than any other sport. (Don't start, my opinion! smile ) Very disappointing watching these two blow outs, thankfully there a west coast game. Sharks Canucks is going to be a great series.
I think the sleeper of the playoffs is going to be The New York Rangers. They have a big name goaltender and they are going into the playoffs on somewhat of a roll. Yes the Capitals are too and hopefully Green doesn't do his annual playoff disappearing act, but the Rangers have Rick Nash who has been waiting for This Moment. Well no going to bed until about 1am. My luck it will go  3 Overtimes!

Go Sharks! Up 2-0, but nobodies paying attention as the Warriors are stealing the show.

Ah, to live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Let's see, the last 2 days went something like this.

Warriors beat Denver Thursday night to advance in the playoffs.
A's beat the Yankees last night
Giants beat the Dodgers last night.
Sharks beat Vancouver last night.

Is there a bay area horse in the derby today? Ha.

To be quite honest, though, I don't see either team (Warriors / Sharks) in their respective finals.......BUT THAT WAS ONE HELL OF A SHARKS WIN LAST NIGHT.

Somewhat out played but not out scored. And thats really all that matters.
