Well I remember her saying that she was dating a tattoo artist and when her mom saw him she asked Beth to promise not to get any. Beth said it's lucky her mom is forgiving. She also said she probably would not have as many if she had been sober at that time, but she still likes them.
She was not going to get anymore because her husband thought she had enough, but she didn't like the butterfly on her shoulder anymore or her spiderweb on her elbow, so she decided to get something more feminine and the calla lilies on her arm served to cover those up and to symbolize personal growth. She got those in 2010 right before the My California album came out. I really like the calla lilies, especially when I saw it in person. I also love her snake tattoo.
I remember an interview where she explained all of them - the meanings behind them. If I find it I'll post it.
