Good info Rick about the medicine, I'll have to discuss it with my derm. if I get more basal cells. I can picture what you mean surfer boy, I mainly have a lot of freckles.  I might as well be married to my derm, we'll be seeing each other so much. Just saw him today, just when I thought I was in the clear he shaved off 2 things and I have to go back for an excision biopsy.  My state of mind, if I don't laugh, I'll cry. Last week I was humming Neil Young's, The Needle and the Damage Done, today it comes on the radio when I drove away from the doctor's office, coinkydink...(it just reminds me of me with the sun, not the needle)  I'm glad all of us sun lovin' baby boomers are stimulating the dermatology economy! lol BUT, I now realize how very lucky I was, if my tumor was .3mm larger, I would have had the criteria for lymph node involvement and that surgery in the neck area is radical because of the way they drain isn't as definitive as other parts of the body. So, I'm going to laugh as much as possible! lol lol Sandy, your name reminds me of the beach! wink I've been under the umbrella on the beach since '97, I'm very relaxed under there with a good book and my sunblock.

I'm happy to announce SFAC has received guitar strings from Carmen Rojas!! SWEET!!  Special thanks to Colin and Jim Moody and of course, Carmen! Also, some of the strings Elisa recently received were used at the Beacon Theater shows in New York, if anyone is particularly interested in jewelry made from those shows.

Just to update on a few new artists donating strings: Willie Nelson and Wynonna Judd

And there is fundraiser happening on Sept 15th called Pickin On Cancer in Erie, PA.  There will be a silent auction, including signed memorabilia.  Some of things up for sale are SFAC t-shirts signed by Paul Rodgers, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, all the members of Foreigner, etc.

Thumbs up to Melissa Etheridge for donating her guitar strings last night at a show in Erie, Pennsylvania!!  Melissa is a breast cancer survivor.

I would like to see two other female breast cancer survivors donate their strings: Carly Simon & Sheryl Crow.

As always to all the JB fans, THANK YOU for supporting a great cause by spreading the word, getting used guitar strings and purchasing the jewelry.  The money raised is getting directly into the hands of the cancer patient in need; StringsforaCURE doesn't have as many layers as the big foundations, so this benefits the patients! wink

Finally SFAC received the strings from Virgil and the Accelerators DVD gig!  Don't expect to see any pieces for a while - it is so great she has so much inventory strings to work with.

FYI ~ some new Joe pieces are in inventory. I especially like the pearls floating on Joe's strings and the other necklace with the blue crystals, I have a similar piece with deeper blue stones. I love the blues!! wink

Elisa should have some pieces up soon made from Virgil McMahon's strings from the DVD gig last August.  They are from his Fender "Alice."  I always love her stuff - great for  gifts if there is a music fan in your life.  Great cause, great person.

This is the most informative thing I've read in regards to recent reports about Angelina Jolie's personal decisions related to her DNA/family history.

Her personal decision is not relevant to more than 99% of American women. Also, a woman can get breast cancer and not have the mutation. So, this is just FYI.

Hello to ALL fans of Joe!

My cousin Elisa, two-time breast cancer survivor, is on a mission. She turns 60 on October 14th. She will be in attendance at Paul McCartney's concert in Nashville on October 16th. Elisa wants Paul McCartney's used guitar strings for the StringsforaCURE Foundation. The SFAC Foundation has given away over $80,000 to cancer patients. The money raised is getting directly into the hands of cancer patients in need.

With a little help from my friends, spreading the word on social media, could HELP the SFAC Foundation raise more money. Besides selling guitar string jewelry, personal donations are welcomed.

As you may know, Paul McCartney's lovely wife Linda, died of breast cancer. (Linda died the day a friend of mine was in the hospital having a double mastectomy)

Also, our favorite Joe Bonamassa was the first to donate his guitar strings to the foundation and to this day has sold the most pieces. Two Joe fans, Cathy & George, secured the first set of strings at a show at the Birchmere, in Virginia. George lost his wife to breast cancer, there was a personal connection to this cause.

So, PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU CAN, spread the word.
