I haven't given KWS much thought the past several years but today I learned that he's playing a gig at The Brat Stop in Kenosha, WI next month. I'm sure some of you from the area are familiar with the venue. Saw him a long time ago at Summerfest but the song selection was a little too bluesy for me at the time. Can anybody say if he's now more on the rock side of blues/rock or the blues side? I'm debating whether or not to attend since it's right in my back yard.

I too had a lapse in the time I followed him. I loved the early stuff, then he lost me for a while, but the new CD is great. I was lucky enough to see him in Oct at a very small venue in Md. I sat, literally, at his feet. I was drawn to him by his guitar playing and that's what I saw. Oh pretty woman is my favorite. Noah is such a professional and his voice is his instrument. I have to admit I was as thrilled to be that close to Chris Layton, he's an icon. So, I thought it was a wonderful show, really high energy, and full of killer guitar. Take the plunge.  wink    Cathy

Thanks for the input! I'll see how the holiday schedule is shaking out and then I'll make my decision.

I saw Kenny in Amsterdam and the whole band was amazing! Such pure fun they showed and off course the music was very good. Goog balance between Noah and Kenny. To me the more rocking sound. Barbie, I hope you are able to visit the show and tell us afterwords if you also liked it!

Re: New Kenny Wayne Shepherd

Paul Jones' Radio Show this evening had an interview with KWS and he recorded some tracks specially for the programme. You can catch an extended version of the interview and an extra track here. The interview was recorded the day after the KoKo gig in London.

KWS sounded like a really nice guy.  wink

Re: New Kenny Wayne Shepherd

Attended KWS show last night. The venue was bad news but I expected that. The band was great just like you all said it would be. Kenny and Noah are a great team and the rest of the band are no slouches either. I recognized several songs so he must have been pulling from his entire catalog. And I know it's not about looks but those two boys were FADORABLE! wink

My favorite KWS album for sure. I managed to see them live for 7 bucks(!!!!!!) a few months ago and standing room only. I got to the front row, about 2 feet from the speaker that made me go deaf for a little while. Tony Franklin's bass playing is certainly notable

My name is Red. I like the Blues.

Re: New Kenny Wayne Shepherd

Has just finished an album with Stephen Stills where they both share vocals. Also working on a solo band album. Dates being worked on for a UK tour this year smile

Re: New Kenny Wayne Shepherd

you know, I have heard or read somewhere that he could sing. Hey, if Larry Carlton and Eric Johnson didn't mind trying then he might as well give it a run. I love Stills voice, so this will be a "must have". thanks Kenny for the info.

Most people I heard from compared Kenny's vocals to a poor man's Lenny Kravitz.  It's definitely similar!

Cold from his last album How I Go. Personally, I like his vocals quite a bit, but Noah is the voice of that band.
