Well, I may have jinxed the Blackhawks with my comment above. They lost in a shoot out that they easily could have won (Sharp rang one off the crossbar), and are now 6-0-1. I see SJ also went to a shoot out in their 7th game...with a better outcome.

SJ won game 6 in a shootout also. 2 shootout wins in a row. Both game they were pretty much outplayed but won.

Niemi (you remember him?) has been stellar so far.

Love Niemi and was very sorry to see him go. That said, Crawford has been very good so far this season.

A third stright shootout for the Sharks but this time a loss.

Looking forward to Tuesdays game. Sharks will be playing back to back after playing in Anaheim on Monday.

Re: No Hockey Fans This Post Season???

It'll be interesting to see what Queneville does. Crawford is clearly the Hawks #1, but Ray Emery stood on his head to beat Calgary. I could see him in net on Tuesday.

7-0-2 Blackhawks vs. 7-1-1 Sharks. Ii hate these west coast games...I'll never get up for work in the morning. Let's go Hawks!!!

Re: No Hockey Fans This Post Season???

WOW......3-3......And that's just the 1st period.

Re: No Hockey Fans This Post Season???

I'm a Kings fan and they aren't looking consistent so far in this abbreviated season. I know they are missing some key D men and hopefully that will correct things. Before last season, I decided to not renew my season tickets :fp and that seemed to work out pretty well for them. Maybe it was me?

The Blackhawks and Sharks are both off to great starts.

Hawks prevail, 5-3...empty netter near the end. Pretty close game with lots of s oring opportunities.

Very entertaining game. Sure didn't like the blown call in the 2nd period though.

For those who are wondering.....Sharks player Andrew Desjardin was called for a Match Penalty (he is kicked out of the game and Chicago gets a 4min PP on which they scored to go up 4-3) for a hit to the head. Replay, which isn't used for these types of calls, clearly showed the hit wasn't to the head but shoulder. After the hit a 'Hawk instigated a fight but was only given 2 minutes.

On a footnote, today the NHL recinded the Match Penalty on Desjardins.......damage done. At least it wasn't a game 7.

Yeah it bites.  Situation like this, demands retribution...you know it is coming (and deserved).

However, not scoring on how many power plays???  That really bites harder than a Shark!

Definitely a questionable call, but (to me) it looked like he left his feet before the hit. Definitely not a head shot.
Just to clarify, the Hawks did not score on a power play, they scored on a 4 on 4 with both players off the ice.

Hawks and Coyotes tonight...the first time Torres will be on the ice against the Hawks since he ran Hossa.
The Hawks are saying all the right things about getting retribution by simply winning the game, but I'm betting there are going to be some fireworks of some sort. Torres wouldn't drop his gloves against Bollig a year ago...maybe tonight?

Well, the Hawks started Mayers and sat Bollig. Mayers and Torres dropped the gloves about 2 1/2 minutes into the game with no clear winner. The Hawks scored 4 goals in the first period and scored two more in  the second to send Mike Smith to the showers. Jonathon Toews undressed Yotes defenseman Ekman-Larsson while scored his 5th goal of the season...a highlight reel goal if ever there was one.

Hawks go to 9-0-2 and have taken 8 of 10 possible points on their current road trip, already a hugely successful road trip. If they can beat the Preds in Nashville on Sunday, it'll be 10 of 12 possible points.

Damn...They (the 'Hawks) are on a serious roll. Maybe the magic of a few years ago is back? It is a long season though......NOT.

Haha...they remind me a bit of 2010 because they currently have 4 lines that are all playing well. The scary thing is they've only played two home games so far.
You're right...it's not a long season, lol, but there's still a lot of hockey left.
