Richard Hawley - Troxy  23rd Feb

Might not be "blues" enough for some, but highly rate this guy & band.

And, some guys called ZZ Top - 24 June - Hammersmith Apollo, London

Black Crowes - 29th & 30th March - The Forum

The Black Crowes are playing - tickets on sale this Friday and will probably sell out fast although they are playing 2 nights.

The Gaslight Anthem are also playing 2 nights.

Joe's mate Steve Lukather (Toto) also playing and I have a ticket for that.

Re: The London Gig Guide

Phew, Gig Guide updated again. It's looking quite healthy again after a long period of not a lot going on. March looks particularly busy wink

Rick, if you've got the constitution for five nights' gigging in a row, I'm impressed. smile  As Kenny says, I think the Steve Lukather gig looks favourite at the moment and I know of other BonaNuts who intend to be at this gig. You never know who else may turn up too. wink

Mmmm. Luthaker! I'll broach this, though it may be a solo run as she takes an early sleep since the jet lag will be in force. This week with 3 in 5 days is breaking her in. It is a delight and joy to have a spouse who loves to rocknroll as much as I.
Thanks for the heads up gents.

Is that a typo caused by 3 nights gigging Rick? lol

Hey the Black Crowes are going to do a different set list the 2nd night - why are you not going to that one? smile

Re: The London Gig Guide

if you're referring to me Kenny, I'm aware of the Black Crowes diversity in setlists, but i'm going to see Joe Bonamassa the following night, obviously wink so can't attend the second Black Crowes performance unfortunately.

I know, was just having a bit of fun. I'm glad I don't stay in London. Too many times there are multiple concerts worth seeing on the same night. Plus I would be bankrupt!!

Fair enough, my bad, and whilst you are right, it can be costly and very tiring going to concerts in London. However along with New York, no other city can really compete in sheer breadth and also in it's tendency to be host to more one off shows. In recent years i've got to see Teenage Cancer Trust Shows, Clapton & Beck and The Rolling Stones 50th Anniversary Shows, all on my doorstep, and all not happening anywhere else in Europe. Plus how many of you guys on the forum have to add travel and hotel costs on top of your Joe Bonamassa 2013 London extravaganza? the money i save there will take me too a few more shows, and i'll be comfortably at home preparing for bed within an hour of the shows finishing. it may be costly and tiring in London, but i wouldn't trade it for anywhere else gigwise. wink

Although if i'm honest, i get up for work at 4.45am and work outside, so have ended up ill after going to a 2-3+ gigs in quick succession, getting virtually no sleep, and being run down, so it does have it's price. After going to 5 gigs in 9 days at end of November when it was really cold, i come down with pneumonia, which is still lingering. so swings and roundabouts!

Re: The London Gig Guide

You must join the London Gig Buddies, Mr Cigar. We'd love to see you at one of our many London jaunts. No smoking tho' lol

You're not wrong there! Living in Aberdeenshire I have to travel to Glasgow & Edinburgh regularly to see decent gigs. Plus adding on jaunts to London now and again I'm scared to count how much money I spend on travel & accomodation for gigs!

There will be no High Voltage again this year sad so I might just have to return to Bospop in Holland, where I saw Joe in a tent in 2007 smile
