Shred,
KDHX is different in that it is a public radio station. The Dj's or hosts are not paid. They each take a 1 to 2 hour shift each week in the same time slot. They have a name for their program and follow a format for they genre of music they choose. They are free to play what ever they want (following FCC regulations of course!). If they choose to play the same song over and over for 2 hours that is their choice. One of the great shows is "Down in the Alley" on Sunday nights from 8:30 - 10:00 pm CT. You can call in and request or email requests. Sometimes they have guest artists in the studio and feature many of their songs. This past week they had Kari from the Bottoms Up Blues Gang, a local group. Check them out at http://www.bottomsupblues.com/. If you are interested in catching any of the shows on KDHX, here is the link to their page and also to their listen on-line page. http://www.kdhx.org/ under the radio tab click on programs. My buddy Michael Lynch already helped me out by sending the DJ for Down in the Alley a request for a Joe tune, telling them that he was listening on-line from England!
It is a great station with a little something for everyone!
