Topic: The Joy of Giving

Kestrou and CindyRon gave a couple of beautiful gifts to some very appreciative young men. I thought I would share another story.  There is a church a few miles away from me that has a very good contemporary Christian music band that plays at all of their services and their church is growing rapidly.  They have a very talented lead guitarist and vocalist.  He has dedicated his life to the Lord and to leading this church, and has a full family to take care.  I had a very nice new Fender American Standard Strat that I was not playing and was preparing to trade it for something else I really did not need.  Well, one night I felt the call to give it to this fellow, so the next morning I did.  He was speechless and so appreciative.  And I got more joy out of giving that guitar to him than I would have ever gotten from trading for another piece of equipment for myself.  He sent me a great thank you card and even mentioned me in the band's latest CD cover.  (That is probably the only way my name will ever be listed in a CD!)  There are a lot of very talented, struggling musician's out there.  I would encourage anyone who is financially able, to put some of your extra gear in another worthy musician's hands.  You will be glad you did!
In closing, my wife is entering end stage kidney failure.  We are hoping and praying for a life saving kidney transplant soon.  We went through this with my son in 2007 and it is a tough road.  I would appreciate your prayers for my wife.

You are in our prayers. What a generous gift. It is truly a blessing to give to those who are less fortunate, especially when the heart says to do it. God bless you and your family.

Re: The Joy of Giving

Hello Hoosier, your gifting story warms our hearts, especially at this Christmas season.  You've got one reward already in the depth of your heart, and more reward coming to you in a later life.  The impact of unexpected acts of kindness like this can be so significant.

Having been on this Forum for a while now, you know well that you have the support of all of us for your wife's situation.  We are behind you and her 1000% with sincere prayer intercession and our loving thoughts.  Bless you.

Re: The Joy of Giving

This is a great story.  I'm very sorry for your wives sickness and I do pray to God that the kidney will come soon.

Re: The Joy of Giving

Prayers to you and your family.

I'm originally a Hoosier, by the way - born and raised in the southern part of the state, just across the river from Louisville. smile

Re: The Joy of Giving

Thank you all for your prayers and support.  It made my wife's day when I told her that several members of the Bonamassa Forum were praying for her.  Kestrou, I am about 60 miles west of Louisville, right on the Ohio River.  (Not too far from your home town)
