Topic: The Joy of Giving
Kestrou and CindyRon gave a couple of beautiful gifts to some very appreciative young men. I thought I would share another story. There is a church a few miles away from me that has a very good contemporary Christian music band that plays at all of their services and their church is growing rapidly. They have a very talented lead guitarist and vocalist. He has dedicated his life to the Lord and to leading this church, and has a full family to take care. I had a very nice new Fender American Standard Strat that I was not playing and was preparing to trade it for something else I really did not need. Well, one night I felt the call to give it to this fellow, so the next morning I did. He was speechless and so appreciative. And I got more joy out of giving that guitar to him than I would have ever gotten from trading for another piece of equipment for myself. He sent me a great thank you card and even mentioned me in the band's latest CD cover. (That is probably the only way my name will ever be listed in a CD!) There are a lot of very talented, struggling musician's out there. I would encourage anyone who is financially able, to put some of your extra gear in another worthy musician's hands. You will be glad you did!
In closing, my wife is entering end stage kidney failure. We are hoping and praying for a life saving kidney transplant soon. We went through this with my son in 2007 and it is a tough road. I would appreciate your prayers for my wife.
