DSL cheap in quality: No. Cheap in comparison: Yes.
It does seem unusual to see a plethora of vintage equipment with a newer, modern amp mixed in. But hey, whatever works. Bought one many years ago and would never sell it. Always comes through as a good sounding amp.
Well all I can say is. Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's not good. The switch from EV to vintage Celestions and basket weave cabinets has required a different type of sound to start with. The DSLs won't be cheap for long now that they discontinued the original version. I still have the old rig in the truck. I'm happy with the results and the simpler approach. Makes me play better and more creatively. Remember BB King uses a Lab Series L-5! I bought mine mint for 250!

oh certainly. whatever sounds good, and if one thing is certain, from bluesbreaker combos, to Buddas, to Marshalls, to whatever, you manage to sound great. The gear does NOT make the man, at least in your case, or in the case of good players. Now now JB, the L5's have something special in them... I am not saying BB would nto sound good though a crate GX112C, but... anyhow, I have owned a lot more expensive amps than my Rocker 30 rig, and at the end of the day, if it is inspiring that is all that matters.
Looks like I'm going to have to get a weekend job (I'm in school) and get me a new amp!

So, DSL100, Marshall super, Victoria and Fender....is that the rig now?
The Victoria is an amp for guests that sit in. I haven't seen a Fender, did he add this recently? I'm guessing he is running the Marshall DSL mixed with one of the older Marshalls with the Diaz reverb in front? I wonder if he goes between the DSL and the Friedman then mixes one of those with the older Marshalls. I'm hoping Premier Guitar or somebody does a new "Rig Rundown" with Joe.

Joe runs the Vic and Twinolux together on Wee Wee Hours. Awesome tone!
He's using a DSL and s Super PA for most of the show. The white cabinet is a Diaz reverb unit. He's got a great organic tone with this set-up.
