Thanks again for the reviews guys.

Cathy, you mentioned the PBS tix for the Warner came with meet and greet? That is how I got the tickets I sold to another fan but I did not receive a meet and greet pass or info. I kinda of thought that show was supposed to get one (although they made it very clear the Baltimore show in the Spring wouldn't). I was gonna pass it on to an eleven year old I knew was going if it came but it didn't. Just wondering if you got one, no big deal but blahblah.
This is also why i really try to not get anyone's hopes up in regards to Joe coming out to the bus. I know its not a given but I think some get the wrong idea from us here when we say he usually does.IMO Anyway still thankful for all the times I have met you Joe and I never expect it as a given-maybe a few times in my early fandom years but I catch on smile . And of course support and love for Cathy but I also agree the other special events are unrelated completely.

and I know its off topic and would be better in an email if I had it but Joe you know about some of my sinus problems. The netti pot has been used for thousands of years and such but is not for everyone......been down that road about as many times as you have gotten sinus sickness. Besides having to have appropiate water available, it just didn't help me and at times made things alot worse and I was quite careful about the process. I finally gave up and feel better for it, although I do have many friends who use it daily. I have had many docs reccommend Ocean spray and this is one where generics don't always work as well either. More details upon request. I know you didn't ask (and I am not a nurse wink ) but its a huge part of my life and wanted to share that my expereince is different. You know I hope you feel better soon. I don't know how you do it!

thanks again Natasha and glad you got to meet some of my other friends there!!!

I remembered I was watching when they announced them on the D.C. PBS station.

You know Cathy..... I have nothing but love and appreciation for you....   Sorry to mis-direct the thread.   But truthfully told...  I caught the the sinus infection that jeopardized  this weeks shows standing out in the cold meeting and greeting the same people I saw at 4:30 in the cold for 40 minutes.   I love everybody but I dont  have the ability to do the 110 percent in the cold with a cold.   I try my best but I do have to sing 5 nights a week...  I do think it is unfair to judge me to be able to walk the streets but not to meet and greet the random patrons that show up at a random place.   I mean its not totally fair.

PS....  If you need to pin down a town that turned the tide...  It would of been Rochester..   I wasn't feeling well but stood out there anyway to  say hi to the same people I said hi to at 4:30.....  The next day I woke up sick....  Time to make a change the people in charge said..

I have nothing but love and respect for you too Joe. I'm sorry if this has bothered you since yesterday. You have proven your dedication to your fans over the years. You don't just try, you give your best. I also know you have a soft spot for kids. Me too. I wasn't fair and I'm really sorry. I just felt bad for them. Every fan whose been around for a while has always known the demands would pull you back from the masses. But, we wanted all this for you and we root for you to soar. I've always told you your humanity was your special gift. I still believe that.
On a side note, as a nurse, I have to tell you that germs make you sick, not cold weather. Viruses like cold, so when you are exposed in cold weather, they take hold. Best prevention is hand washing and using that Neti pot as long as you're touring. Avoiding people also helps wink
Oh man, I know how good your memory is. This is one thing I'd like you to forget! lol      Ready for penance, Cathy

Joe, point well taken - and just so you know my post was tongue-in-cheek...there was no whining on our part, honest. It would have been a treat to meet you again, but completely OK that it was not to be this time around.

We sure can treat you to some Bal'more crabs when you come to the Hippo in May..... smile smile in 'The other bus with Tennessee Plates' tongue tongue

Re: D.C. Show was Fantastic

What a great show!  I was bummed buying the tickets because, for some reason, the option to just get best available wasn't there and every time I selected specific seats, I lost out.  i was up in the balcony.  I've been spoiled getting in the first few rows for my Trans Siberian Orchestra obsession.  smile

I agree about the people getting out of their seats.  New rule, if you get out of your seat during a show, you can't come back until the break before the encore.  This is an event.  Come and stay for the show.  You can get drunk at home for less money.

I could give reviews of many songs, but I'd like to say I LOVE the new version of Sloe Gin.  The version on Royal Albert Hall is a regular on my iPhone set list.  The version in DC is even better.

I was hoping to see the double neck on Young Man Blues, but even with "just" the six string, it was amazing.  Tal is quite the showman and musician on that one!!

Midnight Blues is also becoming a favorite.

Thank you Joe for fighting through the illness.  I can say I didn't notice any problems with your voice or energy level!!

Re: D.C. Show was Fantastic

Let's get back to enjoying the music. Here is video of Wee Wee Hours followed by Look Over Yonder's Wall. I never realised how much my hands were shaking. As I said, I am new to doing video and this camera. Look Over Yonder's Wall cuts at the end because my battery ran out (much silent cursing at the time). Just succeeded at splicing the ending on.

Re: D.C. Show was Fantastic

Hi everybody!

Well Saturday was my first Bonamassa show and I thought it was great! Over the past couple years Joe has become one of my favorite artists and I'm very picky when it comes to music. But I had all his works and really enjoy them all.

I bought my ticket in April, so the wait was a long time coming! In addition to seeing Joe and the band I was looking forward to seeing the 'Burst' and they did not disappoint! I have never seen one before so it is a really treat to see someone so excellent playing them. Can someone tell me what the two Burst after the 'Batman' where? Principle Skinner maybe? Magellan doesn't go on the road with him anymore right?

I would have liked to see the Flying V. I'm not sure what the White SG was, I'll have to look into it.

The Warner Theatre was funny. I was sitting 8 rows to the right and Tal was completely obscured and Carmine partially obscured. That was not cool. It's a beautiful venue, but I'll know what to expect for next time. The people getting up, multiple times and moving as slow as they pleased was the most annoying thing I've ever experienced at a show.

Now back to the show. I wasn't expecting the 20 minute acoustic set at the beginning, that was really cool. I was expecting the theremin during John Henry, but not having it didn't take away from it. When all you have is the blu rays to go by you expect what's on there, but I understand this was not a blu ray and I got my own custom style show that will never be repeated after a few years. Everything else was really just great. Joe is a fantastic performer and has his craft well honed. I live closer to Baltimore rather than D.C., so I would like to score a decent ticket for the show.

Thank you Joe for coming out, you were fantastic!

Re: D.C. Show was Fantastic

Thanks for the actual reviews.  It sounds like it was a great show. I hate that it will be another six months before I get to see Joe again.  I love this forum and so glad that Joe actually reads our posts.  Cathy you rock and everyone knows that you love Joe.

I really liked this song, Wee Wee hours, Joe's guitar playing is such a fine tribute to Chuck Berry. Thanks so much for sharing.  For first  time video I think you did a good job.  When I saw Joe in St. Louis, I took a bunch of pic and then deleted them.  Duh!

Re: D.C. Show was Fantastic

A few excerpts from Young Man Blues. Nice jam of Joe and Carmine together once you get through the first part. Couldn't see Tal, so didn't keep it going for drum solo.

Re: D.C. Show was Fantastic

Cathy, you crack me up! This is the last video, Woke Up Dreaming, and I admit I am a complete idiot sometimes. When I started it, I did it vertically, I guess because whenever I see a person through a camera, I go vertical because they fit better.  Then I realised what I had done, and turned the camera horizontal.  My son had to help me fix the whole thing.  Thank god these kids know how to work computers, because I am certainly clueless sometimes. Even though Joe does this song at every show, it sure is fun to watch those fingers fly.

A les paul forum post
http://www.lespaulforum.com/forum/showt … p?t=183211
Has a setlist with which guitars are assigned to which songs
http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn18 … etlist.jpg

So "Spot" is the first Burst that is played.  Unfortunately, the setlist has Joe borrowing the poster's goldtop for the encore.  Not sure which burst he played for the DC encore.  For Young Man Blues it says Uncle Lou 68.  Is that the SG?  Later in the thread it talks about a black beauty belonging to "Lou", so maybe he played a diff. guitar for that show?   Hope some of this helps.

Jim

Decided to clean up a little crapola here too. Sorry if any collateral damage was done. Just wanted to keep relevant posts and replies to the thread.
