I hate when movies are so talked up and they show trailers that are probably the only best part of the movie and when you actually see the movie are so so disappointed.
Lincoln...
In this day of mall rat low IQ bad acting hollywood agenda film making, I rarely venture to the movies anymore, but I made an exception for Lincoln and I'm very happy I did.
Daniel Day-Lewis is absolutely magnificent in the title role and Sally Field is equally superb as Mrs. Lincoln. Primarily the story of the challenges and struggles leading to the pasage of the 13th amendment to the constitution. Speilberg does an amazing job capturing Lincoln's challenges as a President, Husband and Father and as I said above, Lewis' performance is Oscar worthy if there ever was one. Well worth the time and money.

Have not seen it but so far only heard good things. I just recently read an interesting story about his beard. A young girl wrote to him and thought he should grow one because his face was so long and thin she felt it would help fill out his face and help him win the race. Which he did. He wrote back to her and told her he would think it over. The rest is history.
May see it friday. Lincoln has always been my favorite President. His mother Nancy Hanks Lincoln is buried not far from here and his birthplace in Kentucky is about 2 and a half hours away.
Saturday night is movie night, Netflix that is, we haven't been to the movies in years but watch a movie nearly every Saturday night, so mine may be a little dated One of the best we watched recently was Money Ball, thought it was great.
Glad to see Lincoln is good, looking forward to seeing it. I share a birthdate with Lincoln. I saw Sally Field interviewed on the CBS Saturday Morning, she really wanted the part but the age difference was a questionable, she demanded a screen test and the rest is history. Mary Todd Lincoln is from Lexington, and her home is open for tourists, it was really cool CBS did the interview with Sally Field here in Lexington
My buddy was way off with his Skyfall opinion, really good movie...LOVED Scotland!!, just beautiful
Shred
No.But the JB (the other JB) and Lincoln are on my list to get to
"Skyfall"......a great action movie.....(although the ending was a bit sad)
Skyfall and The Sweeney. Both great films.
Gotta say that ARGO kept my daughter and I on the edge of our seat. I had forgotten the outcome of the real life situation but it didn't matter.
Good period piece well observed and great ensemble playing. Full marks to Ben Afleck.
I wanted to see Bond but my daughter wasn't having it. I saw a great film instead and now I've still got Bond to see!
Wife served notice Skyfall is on the agenda. I'll be seeing it soon.

We really liked Argo also. My husband didn't want to see it because he said he knew how it turned out, but I kind of forced him to go because I had heard it was really good. Afterwards he admitted, "you're right, that was a good movie." Doesn't he realize by now, that I am almost always right ?
