Lets just say it would be easy to comment on how great the show was - which it surely was. I really did think I died and went to heaven. From being able to get on the M&G, meeting Joe who has inpired a guy in his 40s to play his guitar everyday, to sitting in a theater where you can feel you are a part of something (not just a person who is 100 yards away and paid with his left arm to get in.
I tell you - Joe and his whole gang have got it together. You all have created something special and you all should be proud. Great music is what brings people to their first show but its the little things that make fans out of them. I've seen great musicians do a terrible job in person and it is difficult to want to spend hard earned money on them.
Joe: you have me for the long term.
Starting with Bad Company's Seagull - one of my favorite songs. What a great surprise. A nice little acoustic set to get things going.
The thing with Joe is that he has put out some great live DVDs so you know what you'll get. He nailed it for over 2 hours.
I think there was only one misstep all night and I bet it had more to do more with the venue than the artist. I hit the bank machine and was all set to lay out some cash for some new swag. Unfortunately the only thing available for sale was CDs and DVDs. Unfortunately I had all of them already. Well I guess I'll put in my wish list for Christmas and do my shopping on line this year.
Can't wait to see him in May. Thanks for all the street team cards. Will be handing them out to bring even more blues fans into the know.
