Topic: The Scottish Blues Compilation Series: Jock's Juke Joint
Hi folks
Well it's been a long time since I've posted here and there's a reason for that, I've been working on an album! Not my own album of course as many of you will know, I can't play! However I've been working with Nick and Lewis Hamilton from the band Lewis Hamilton & The Boogie Brothers on a compilation of Scottish Blues artists.
It's been a few years that I've been interested in the blues, yet in the last few years I've taken far much more attention of the acts playing and I beleive there's some great young talent of all ages. While Alan Nimmo with the Nimmo Brothers and latterly King King have become quite well known in the UK and beyond (King King winning two British Blues Awards today), behind them there are many other really good acts.
Based on the theme of a fictitious Scottish Juke Joint, we've called the album Jock's Juke Joint. We've got 17 acts to contribute original tracks ranging from solo acoustic blues to hard hitting blues rock. The CD includes artists from the borders to Aberdeen, and includes well known bands(within Scotland) such as Gerry Jablonski & The Electric Band and Lewis Hamilton & The Boogie Brothers to a couple of English based acts with prominent Scottish members, Albany Down and Bare Bones Boogie Band.
The CD will be on sale from all the included artists in a couple of weeks, and for more information, please look at our facebooke page www.facebook.com/jocksjukejoint. Please give us a like and feel free to ask for more information. A press release will be issued to all interested parties within the next week.
Cheers
Duncan
