Re: Great news about the Joe Bonamassa Signature pups!!!

No problem at all...  Honestly the Seymour Duncan folks are the best...  Our goal was to replicate the sound of " Magellan's" pickups and the look... But I realize the look might not be for everybody.. So I am fine with sets varying for looks and special situations..  Enjoy them!!!

Hi Joe,

I hope it is ok to ask this question. What pickups do you use in your Flying V? I have found nothing about it in the forum.

Greetings and many thanks

Re: Great news about the Joe Bonamassa Signature pups!!!

Stock I'm sure.  Joe does not do a lot of pickup swapping.

Gibson 60th Anniversary 1959 Les Paul Reissue, Gibson LP Standard Faded CSB, Gibson Gary Moore LP Standard, Epi Joe Bonamassa GT LP, Epi Zakk Wylde LP, Dean Michael Schenker Flying V, Jackson Randy Rhoads V, ESP/LTD George Lynch Kamikaze, EVH Striped Series R/B/W, Fender/Squire John 5 Telecaster, Fender Joe Strummer Relic Telecaster

If they are stock (most probably) I think they came with: A pair of 496R and 500T pickups

(If only I had 1% of Joe's guitar talent)

Really on a reissue like that one?  I know their Standard model thats true but I would have thought they had something a little better then that in them.  The guitar is Koa for crying out loud.

If there are stock pickups in it, it would have to be Gibson 57.

I hope this is true but ..:

Re: Great news about the Joe Bonamassa Signature pups!!!

I believe Joe's is an '80's reissue which would have had Shaw pups in it, which are early PAF replicas if I remember correctly.

.
Tim Shaws are really great pickups....that's why they are bringing some big bucks today for a matched pair...

And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually.........

Re: Great news about the Joe Bonamassa Signature pups!!!

I emailed MJ and she told me that just the aged gold covers are $30 each plus shipping if anyone was interested in swapping their covers
