Thanks Shadowblue - that coming from an Aussie,(I presume?) is praise indeed!
If Oz had converted some of the silvers you won into Golds .. your final position would have looked a lot different!
Have you had a bashing, or a backlash from your media?
Credit where it's due. It's a really great show. I had enjoyed Sydney incredibly - the vibe in the city was just awesome. The London venues looked brilliant, having the 'outside' events continually running past the Palace and up The Mall, etc. Quaint "toffee" sounding names like Eton Dorney
Yeah, our media has been crapping itself with the "what went wrong?" stuff right from the start. Who cares?
I'm not disappointed really. We've got 22 million here, still ended up in the top 10 and only 6 countries finished with more medals. There was at least half a dozen close things where where our silvers could have easily been gold.
I just like seeing great performances by my follow human beings. Bolt - what can you say? Phelps?
I think my lasting remembered image of these games (apart from Brian May) was where, with the right camera angle in the BMX, it looked like the scene in ET where the kids ride off into the air...
