sheer Heresy! now I like tofu stir fried in chinese dishes with hot and spicy type sauce, but this is a true culinary no-no from a southern US perspective. In fact, real Texas chili does not have any beans in it, surprise surprise. They are served on the side if at all. For a different chili, just substitute a variety of beans whatever you like and ramp up on the vegetables, make it chunky as possible. sorry, I will confess to being a chili snob and have seen everything in it from armadillo to rattlesnake, but tofu is just a tad bizarre.
