Topic: New run of jblp studio

Hi guys

Are Gibson making more of the jblp studio?Shouldnt they just make 1000 worldwide?

Just seen some at wildwood now with no rosewood fingerboard

You cant compare Jimmy Page with God. I mean he's cool and all, but he's no Jimmy Page!!

That was the initial JB Epi model originally (1000 made as per the ads in the magazines/Gibson's website way back when).....
now I think they are on the 2nd or 3rd run of these ones...
The USA Studio....who knows........how many or if they are redoing them?

And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually.........

Re: New run of jblp studio

It would be cool if they did some Candy Apple Blue ones...

Gibson Custom Joe Bonamassa Ltd Signature Les Paul VOS # 31

+1 smile !!!

Re: New run of jblp studio

I hope they don't run any more USA models - if you buy a guitar because it says it's a limited run of a 1,000 units I think you should expect not to see any more out there.  Bear in mind I'm no collector - I play my guitars - but I want to see the value increase or be maintained, not de-value because they're 'two-a-penny'.

Gibson LP '89 Custom * Gibson LP '04 Classic * Gibson JB LP Studio * Fender 50th Ann. Deluxe Strat * Gibson Explorer Pro * Epiphone Korina SG * Michael Kelly Patriot Premium * Ibanez 105NT Artcore Custom * Takamine acoustics * Fender Blues Deville 4x10" * Marshall DSL100 and DSL50 * Marshall 1960A * Laney LH55 * Bugera V55HD * Bugera 212VT * Marshall 1912 * Roland Cube 60

Re: New run of jblp studio

The guitars on the Wildwood site are new USA Studio's with a GrandDildo fingerboard wink ..I'm rather unimpressed firstly that they've changed the specs and secondly that they have produced more of a limited edition run ..I wouldn't have spent as much as I did on mine if I'd known that it was an unlimited limited edition yikes ..however it is a cracking guitar and the video at Wildwood does it justice smile

Re: New run of jblp studio

It doesn't bother me. The studio version is a marvelous instrument, and I hope that more and more people get to own such a great guitar.

This run is of Standard models, not Studios...

Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

Re: New run of jblp studio

Nope these are definitely Studio's but with a grandildo fingerboard http://www.wildwoodguitars.com/products … =0&n=1

Though Joe mentioned a new standard model too

Re: New run of jblp studio

The guitar has binding..... Not a studio.

Re: New run of jblp studio

Why doesn't Gibson make a V or anything besides another Les Paul Bonamassa Model?  How about his Red Firebird that he said was like his $3000 diet coke.  Or the Bonaburst.

Re: New run of jblp studio

The Bonabyrd for christ's sake!!! That would be a killer guitar to release!!

Re: New run of jblp studio

They do make a ES-335 dot neck based on my 1961 model as well as the Les Paul..

Definitely studio's that were initially being discussed here ..even a side profile picture on Wildwood site showing where the gold top meets the black side and clearly no binding ..still got a granadillo fingerboard though ..and still got a great demo video smile

These were originally scheduled to be a limited edition of 1,200 (with an option to go to 1,500).
