Greater Chicagoland is an apt description of my general whereabouts, over time. I was born at Fort Benjamin Harrison, near Indianapolis. But I grew up in Chicago and southern suburb of South Holland. Then up to western suburbs (Oak Lawn, Chicago Ridge, Hickory Hills.)
In my worklife, I've been something of a road warrior. Back in 2000, I spent the year working and living in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Now I'm in Northwest Indiana (Hammond/Highland area). So I guess I've returned to my Hoosier roots for a while.
I've always felt home was where I hung my hat.
As Joe sang it very well at Rockpalast, "I Don't Live Anywhere":

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences. You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway. If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.
