Topic: Favorite Bob Dylan cover (other than Hendrix AATWT)

The best songwriter thread had me thinking about Bob Dylan, who's own recordings are among my least favorites. Even I will acknowledge that his lyrics are at the top of the genre. So who did the best job of taking one of his songs and making it listenable??  I exclude Hendrix' "Watchtower" because that may make the thread too repetitive. I also said "favorite", not "best", since "best" can mean so many different things.

Here's my favorite, "Watching the River Flow" by Seatrain. For the young'ns Seatrain was an offshoot from the original Blues Project, with flutist (or flautist if you prefer) Andy Kulberg ("Flute Thing" will sound familiar to most), and Richard Greene (violin, "Orange Blossom Special"). In this incarnation the singer is Lloyd Baskin (not much elsewhere that I can find other than a possibly mistaken reference to role in "A Beautiful Mind"), and the band live was a really fun, party kind of group, a little rockier/less jazzy or less folky than some other Seatrain lineups. ("North Coast" from the same album and I assume on the same link is also worth a listen.)

"Favorite" might be too hard a choice for most of us, since it probably changes fairly often (at least, it does for me).  Hard to beat The Band's version of "When I Paint My Masterpiece," from Cahoots...

I'm very fond of Susan Tedeschi's version of "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright".

Everything Is Broken done by Kenny Wayne Shepard, the best Dylan cover I've EVER heard! Yes, EVER!!! Not to mention, one of the rowdiest rockin' tunes ever as well. When I did my 60 mins. of fame on 107.7 The Bone(KSAN) in SF 2 years ago this song was in my playlist.

                                                                                             OMG! Kenny Killed Dylan!!!

Mick Taylor's 'Blind Willie McTell' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLkIMRt8bbw
One of Dylan's best songs and Mick shows what a great player he is.

Robert Plant and the Strange Sensation's version of Girl From The North Country live is excellent.

This clip features Eric Clapton at his best with a back-up band to die for and the most bizzare introduction in the history of Rock and Roll thanks to Ronnie Wood.

Chris Duarte did a killer version of One More Cup Of Coffee. Robert Randolph also did Shot Of Love and it was killer. But my favorite one (besides Hendrix or KWS's Everything Is Broken) is Buddy Guy and Anthony Hamilton doing Lay Lady Lay.
