Of course I'm hoping Corvette will win.
I love the fact that you can watch several classes of cars in one race and it is not necessarily about speed...it is just as important to actually survive the race!
Someday my old 79' Vette and I hope to be there in person.
As of right now in the GTE Pro Class, Corvette is 1st, Aston Martin 2nd, Ferrari 3rd
21 more hours to go....give or take a minute or 2...;-)
Still early days but you might get your wish. Corvettes leading the GTE Pro and GTE AM classes.
Should be the first victory for a Hybrid this year if it holds up. Audi are racing 2 'normal' diesels and 2 e-trons this year. Talk about covering your bases. However the e-tron is thought to be worth 7/10s over a LeMans lap. 200 ex tra bhp every time it ready for use. be handy if it rains too with the 4WD aspect of it.
AnthonyDavidson is in the hospital but OK apparently. Normally a couple of bad ones every year. Mike Rockefeller had a shocker last year in the Audi. Very dangerous race with the various classes. Always has been. Just watch Steve McQueens 'Le Mans'. The closing speeds of the cars is just phenomenal.
Not been for many a year. Nothing to beat a trek out to the Mulsanne at night and see the lights come up and then they thwat past at an u-n-b-el-i-e-v-a-b-l-e rate of knots. The chicanes slow 'em down these days but even so.......
I hope the Hybrid lasts. Toyota will be back though. They should stick 'til they win it. Then...who needs Peugot?
