The Reflex is EBMM's production version of the 25th Anniversary model, which they no longer produce. It has the same electronics, including the series/parallel switch, the same body, the same neck. Only the finishes are different. When I mentioned that I thought of the goldtop/black back version as an "unofficial" Joe B. signature model, it was because of the association Joe has with that color scheme on his signature Gibson and Epiphone models. Didn't mean to suggest that the Reflex bears much resemblance to them other than that, though...
I fell in love with the 25th Anniversary model the first time I saw the RAH video, and spent more than a year tracking one down (most of the ones I could find had the quilted top, not the same as Joe's). I'm strictly an amateur/hobbyist player, but I can tell you that the build quality on this guitar is fantastic, the neck is a dream to play on, and the electronics allow for an extremely wide variety of tones. When I had just about given up on finding one like Joe's, the goldtop Reflex was going to be my choice. Luckily for me, I finally found a gorgeous flametop 25th Anniversary (see my avatar), but I'm sure the Reflexes will play and sound just as awesome. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the market for something other than a Lester for your humbucking needs...
