Re: Paul Rodgers

Paul is playing at the Notodden Blues Fesival in Norway on August 4. There will be some other great acts added so its on my radar. Hopefully there will be some other PR European dates. Pity there is no High Voltage Festival this year.

I am hoping he will one day bring Deborah to the States with him to open for him.
I would love to see that pairing do this song over here.  What a great cause they sang this for smile

Another person I would like to see him pair up with is Ritchie Blackmore.  He was always one of the leaders in musicians in the Paul Rodgers fan club.

For me this will always be one of the greatest songs ever written.  By one of the greatest bands EVER!  If I could only choose 1 singer, Paul Rodgers would be it with his incredible bands and songs that he has written.  No one can rock me as hard or lullaby me to sleep like this Man does.  He is just so incredible.  The man with 2 voices.

And a nice tribute from Deborah to her brother.  She is just the sweetest person.

Re: Paul Rodgers

This is going to be ace :

The British-born singer, who lives in White Rock, says he's in the midst of doing a Stax-style soul album with guitarist Steve Cropper. Recording such a disc is a long-held ambition, Rodgers said.

Cropper became legendary as lead guitarist for Booker T and the MGs. They were house band for Stax Records, the storied Memphis label that produced such artists as Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave, and Eddie Floyd. Recently, through a mutual friend, Cropper asked Rodgers if he would sing on a demo song.

That led to the pair cowriting five original tunes, said Cynthia Kereluk, Rodgers's wife and business manager.

Rodgers, interviewed from White Rock, says he and Cropper hope do a CD tribute to Stax Records, with recording starting as early as May. He'd like to cut it using vintage recording equipment at Royal Studios in Memphis, home to historic soul sessions by Al Green, Chuck Berry and Solomon Burke.

"Those [soul singers] will never know what they did to me. When I was 13 and 14, I heard Respect and A Change is Gonna Come and You Don't Miss Your Water," Rodgers said.

He plans to assemble a core band with Cropper and invite "as many as possible" of the people affiliated with Stax to perform as guest artists.

"Right now it's wide open," Rodgers said. "We're just collecting the songs together."

YES IT WOULD!!!!

Had to bounce this back to the top after watching The Beacon Show again last night.

I don't believe there are ANY singers (rock singers that is) from Paul Rodgers generation who are still bringing it like him. The man has obviously taken care of himself. He's 62 for Christ sake. Un-believeable.

the only guitarist that I have heard that would fit in with the 'Free' sound would be jimmy Bowskill, any other named guitarist would be just for commercial reason , not music ones.

Re: Paul Rodgers

ROTFL and spit my coffee out!  Dayum, Paul Rodgers Raps!
Had to watch it twice.

I actually got the song because Paul was on it. It turned out to be one of Eminem's most popular and had some of his fans asking, "Who is that guy singing"?

Very happy he is doing the Stax album. Can't wait to see who his guests are on the album. This is so much his style, been waiting to hear something like this.  And his Duets smoke.

Has anybody else heard what is happening with him and Mica Paris?  Is he still doing that hopefully?

Re: Paul Rodgers

Longtime Bad Company frontman Paul Rodgers is excited for a stretch of European dates with his band, but not willing to commit to an extended tour. The singer says he’s “too long in the tooth” to live the road life again, which is part of the reason he left Queen after four years.
In an interview with Spinner, Rodgers says he left his fill-in gig with Queen on good terms, and didn’t rule out doing a few gigs with Brian May and company in the future. “Being in a band is all-consuming and I like to have a life,” Rodgers says. “After leaving Queen I decided to stop doing those mega-four-month tours. I go out for a month and my dog recognizes me when I come home.”

That led to a conversation about Bad Company’s future. They’ll play on June 9 in Sweden, and five times in Germany, but Rodgers doesn’t expect much more “I don’t like reunions that much. It’s just so many people want it and I get talked into it.”

Perhaps Adam Lambert will be on hand to lead Bad Company after Rodgers finishes with his band this summer. The singer and ‘American Idol’ runner-up was set to pick up the singing duties with Queen this summer, but their show at the Sonisphere Festival was cancelled.

“It’s probably a dream come true for Adam, but I wonder if he has the groundwork to see him through a big tour with those guys,” Rodgers said.

Re: Paul Rodgers

Might see you there Roger.............its a long journey for me.

Paul Rodgers has announced that he will be playing his only UK concert this year on Thursday May 31st in Chichester at The Venue.
Joining Rodgers on the bill will be Deborah Bonham and her Band who will be performing songs from their new album.
Two children's groups from the Chichester Music Academy who work closely with the charity, will open up the evening.

All of the proceeds from the concert will go to The Racehorse Sanctuary and Rehoming Centre, a self funded Charity
