Great finish and IU should've won this game.  Calipari got out-coached at Bloomington and the best team won.  Woohooo!   Indiana is back and I'm watching the game again.  Does anyone have an opener?

Congrats to IU Scott, what a great game to watch. I also noticed that pick at the end that stopped at least one foul, but they had another chance before throwing it out for the 3 pointer and blew it big time. I don't know if I agree that John was outcoached by Tom, he said "we tried to give it back to them.......". Indiana gave up so many points right at the rim, they could not cut off any KY players in the 2nd half coming to the basket. This is what makes college basketball my favorite sport next to college football.
But what happened in the Xavier vs Cinncinnati game really made me sick. Gangsta thugs on both teams, jawing away at each other and the refs did little to settle anybody down. I thought that Yates and the guy that kicked Freese should have received no less than 10 game suspensions. The Xavier coach made some great apologies afterwards, but they seem a little hollow now. We do remember what happened to Blount at Oregon, just totally dismissed. Xavier has a pretty good team, they are not going to dismiss anyone for the year. Totally uncalled for, as Ditka's NFL segment goes, "STOP IT" !!!
Bama improved last night with a win over high scoring Detroit, a good team with some impressive wins. We shut down their 3 ball, a lesson learned from our previous loss, and Jamychal Green had a great game while staying out of foul trouble.

Tres,
Please forgive me for my rash statement about coaches.  I fell victim to my brother-in-law's primo home brew and was well into me cups when I shot that post.  I thought we'd have to wait till next year to have a chance to beat the Cats.
That Detroit club you beat is coached by an ex IU assistant who took his star son with him to Michigan.  Another Sampson low-life that's long forgotten in Indiana.

Re: NCAA Basketball

No problem Scott, I think Tom is real class, and maybe he did have an edge in the fact that John could not get Terrence Jones to even act like he wanted to be there. But in essence it came down to the IU "want to", and hitting the daylights out of that 3 ball.

Re: NCAA Basketball

Our Aztecs finally snuck into the rankings at #25 after knocking off a couple of unranked teams with the second string and walkons. Injuries may be a factor in our upcoming showdown with UNLV in the kickoff game of MWC league play but I hope both teams come out at full strength. That should be a game of consequence out west. There's a great rivalry between them and Mountain West appears to have the best teams in the west so far.

We will be there. My daughter Shannon has been asking me when we play you guys again, she know it’s the best conference game on the schedule and always a great game. We have been to some great games this season so far Cal being the latest. I hope the Aztecs will be healthy by the then. The Rebels are looking good and are ready for some great inter conference competition.
I will be sad to see you guys leave The MWC. Just when the conference gets really strong with two and three teams in the top 25 teams move on. You will be putting on some miles to catch some away games next season in the Big East. The Rebels have beaten some great teams (Sorry Bogie, well maybe not. Reeebeels!) and should be seeded very well this year if we can win the MWC.

So far the only part of the Aztecs going east for sure is the football squad. The rest of the sports are either staying in the MWC or ?. They are talking of some games with the bb team out there but no conference move so far. Our two best players are hobbling around with a knee and a foot but the light schedule and weak teams over the holiday season has given them some needed rest. Rebels and Aztecs appear to be the best in the west so far with domination over the traditional powers out here. Looking forward to some great conference play and our teams should be 1-2 at the end Bill. I think your squad has the edge in talent and size this year with more experienced seniors starting.

Re: NCAA Basketball

Rick - Even at full strength the Rebels would be a handful for your Aztecs.  I haven't been following things like I'd like, but hope you get some of those players back on the court.  We've got a big game on the road tonight against Mich. St and will be playing without our sixth man.  We'll be without him as well Saturday against Ohio St.

Agreed Curby. The weakened squad has crushed a couple of midlevel teams this week playing non-scholarship fill-ins and the bench but will need everything and some luck to overcome the Rebels. I've been watching a lot out here and enjoying the great teams this year. Good luck against Mich. and Ohio.

Almost tip time for the battle of the Bluegrass smile Louisville comes into Rupp Arena catch it at noon on CBS, should be a great game. Jones dislocated his finger since his poor performance again Hoosiers and played in his 1st game since then Wednesday night against Lamar. We need him full strength today for sure. Kidd-Gilchrist has started what is known as the "Breakfast Club" a group getting together early morning for extra work outs. Impressive for a Freshman!

Watched Florida choke against Rutgers in the double over time Thursday, only caught the overtimes, credit to Rutgers they were not going  to give up!

If you happen to tune in to UK/UL this afternoon, imagine as you watch Joe, Rick, Tal & Carmen on stage at one end of the arena cause that's where they'll be May 11 cool

Congrats Liz!  The game was closer than I thought it'd be, but it's one of basketball's great rivalries.  Oh, almost forgot....my Hoosiers just beat Ohio St a few minutes ago.  With Sullinger I think the Buckeyes are the best team this year.  Before fouling out with three minutes to play I thought our freshman center more than held his own against the nation's number one player.  It was a team effort tonight that got the job done and the first time Indiana has beaten the number 1 and 2 teams in the same season.  After Michigan St beat us the other night I wasn't expecting this outcome.  I expect the Spartans to crack the top ten next week and be a low seed come March.  A very explosive team.

Re: NCAA Basketball

good game tonight if I can stay up, Michigan at Indiana should be very close, 8:00 CST

What a season so far and just getting in to league play. Big dogs going down left and right to up and comers. There is a tremendous amount of parity in the top 1/4 of Div.1 with plenty of contenders nipping at the top 20's heels. Now Duke bites the dust. Who's next? I'll be watching tonight Tres, and I couldn't call it.

The Temple win over Duke is front page news in Philly. Rootin' for my alma maters Temple & St. Joe's, while my 'Nova Wildcats are totally chilled this season. lol

Re: NCAA Basketball

Good for Temple and Providence - two class programs.  Certainly not thug teams like Cincinnati and Xavier.  Apparently it was Missouri that went down this weekend and Syracuse narrowly avoided an upset.  My Hoosiers beat a very good Michigan team and a solid Penn State team on the road today.  We should be ranked in the top ten next week.  Not bad for a team I thought might not win 20 games this year.  It's next year that I think the team will be scary....kinda like Kentucky was a couple years ago.

Nice run for the Hoosiers Curby. Only a few undefeated teams now and I expect there to be none left in a couple of weeks.

Excuse me meant 'Nova not the Friars.  Funny how Dook just dropped one place in the coaches poll after losing to unranked Temple yet the Buckeyes  dropped three spots after. Losing to the Hoosiers.

Re: NCAA Basketball

The Orangemen knocked off the 'Nova team easily. They're looking very formidable now. I'll be watching the showdown this Saturday with the Aztecs and Running Rebs on national TV instead of the football game. After the lackluster performance against Chicago State, winless this year, I wonder which team will show up for the Montezuma Mesa fans. Aztecs scored a coup by acquiring 6'10 James Johnson from Virginia on a transfer. He'll be eligible next December. Staff says this year is the biggest recruiting year ever for the team and are very excited over the prospects of a strong team in the future.

I can't wait for conference play to start against the Aztecs in SD.  The Rebels are coming off a long break and will be ready for a great game against Rick’s Aztecs.

Birch Transfers To UNLV From Pitt the 6-9 forward, former McDonald's High School All-American will join Runnin' Rebel program next week.
