I'm a new Philip Sayce fan. I saw this thread a few weeks ago and decided to give him a listen.
I started off with Ruby Electric which I thought was fantastic. I've just got Peace Machine and Innerevolution, Peace Machine is amazing, I haven't listened to Innerevolution yet but I'm sure it'll be great too.

Now looking forward to seeing him live sometime.

You're in for a real treat either way - Innerevolution is a very, very strong album. Did you get the edition with the DVD?

Live - well, some would say he's too loud, and to be fair, in some of the smaller venues it can be a bit harsh on the ears but he's dynamite, and the notes he can wring out those old fenders..... On stage you'd swear you can see sparks coming off him.

If you want to dig round, there's some DVD footage of a very young Philip Sayce on the Jeff Healey Montreaux DVD. Also, he worked a lot with Melissa Etheridge between 2004 and 2008, you'll catch him in her backing band on the Lucky "Live" Cd & DVD, album-wise, there's a couple of tracks on "The Road less Travelled" comp and superb stuff on her The Awakening" album.

Thanks for the info Mike, I'll check out the Melissa Etheridge stuff when I get the chance.

I didn't get the DVD edition, maybe I should have paid the extra and got it instead.

He sounds dynamite live going by your description, really looking forward to seeing him when he's next in the UK. Hopefully next year after his new CD is out.

Murray - welcome aboard the Philip Sayce appreciation society - something else to speak about when we bump into each other. I sent Ruby Electric to my mate in Sydney so he will be spreading the word, same as he did with Joe.

Re: Philip Sayce Fans Here?

My introduction to Philip was through <G> and Gentlemens Blues Club. Grab yourself a copy of GBC's "Longhorn Honeymoon" - put on Track # 4, "Run" ...and crank it way up. Awesome playing and absolutely killer tone.

Re: Philip Sayce Fans Here?

Sayce is the bees knees...one of the best Strat players around at the moment, killer tone and great playing smile I must get a listen of the new album, 'Innerevolution' was fantastic...

See Amazon.com & co.uk have Steamroller on pre-order for March 6th. Also noticed that Amazon.com have a 1996 Philip Sayce Band album on download (2006 issue), or if you have $100 or so to spare, CD to buy. Haven't come across this album before but gets a couple of good write-ups though production apparently is "inconsistent".
