Re: Philip Sayce Fans Here?
I'm a new Philip Sayce fan. I saw this thread a few weeks ago and decided to give him a listen.
I started off with Ruby Electric which I thought was fantastic. I've just got Peace Machine and Innerevolution, Peace Machine is amazing, I haven't listened to Innerevolution yet but I'm sure it'll be great too.Now looking forward to seeing him live sometime.
You're in for a real treat either way - Innerevolution is a very, very strong album. Did you get the edition with the DVD?
Live - well, some would say he's too loud, and to be fair, in some of the smaller venues it can be a bit harsh on the ears but he's dynamite, and the notes he can wring out those old fenders..... On stage you'd swear you can see sparks coming off him.
If you want to dig round, there's some DVD footage of a very young Philip Sayce on the Jeff Healey Montreaux DVD. Also, he worked a lot with Melissa Etheridge between 2004 and 2008, you'll catch him in her backing band on the Lucky "Live" Cd & DVD, album-wise, there's a couple of tracks on "The Road less Travelled" comp and superb stuff on her The Awakening" album.
