Topic: Joe quote from Vintage article

.......Bonamassa chuckled, "I listened to old records...I should have been born in 1950.  I'm into old guitars.  I've owned an old car, and for a large portion of my life, I didn't listen to anything that was made after 1974........."    Vintage Guitar (Aug.07,Vol.21 No.10)

Joe,  it has finally dawned on me why an "old soul" like you wasn't born until 1977 ...........you being younger is allowing those of us born in the 1950's to be "forever young."  smile  Patty

"I'm not nice to any guitar!"      lol

I nominate Joe as an honorary Baby Boomer. big_smile

I'm just saying.

Re: Joe quote from Vintage article

Well, having been born in that era and very much into music, he still wouldn't have found 1/2 of what he likes. It seems people like Bonnie Raitt bringing John Lee Hooker on tour with her is what made people search for more....Cathy

Well said Patty! I know listening to Joe as much as I do, has made me feel like I'm back in the '70s again. Minus of course, the long hair (where did it go?) and the svelte body (I know where that went!).

Roy

Yeah Roy, I am still looking for mine too!  Joe's music really touches what we grew up listening too.   Very close to the heart and soul...

Music is good for the Soul...

Re: Joe quote from Vintage article

All great comments here.  Kathy B. from Missouri one time said something like... discovering Joe is like a shot of adrenaline to a baby boomer. It stayed with me as an excellent description of Joe. smile

Cathy,
You have a point...mentioning the influences and seeing them perform together, has more of an impact. Bonnie has always been great about embracing others, inviting them to record or tour and has turned me on to a few in the blues, most recently Keb'Mo'.  I've mentioned before you starting posting, how I would like to see Bonnie and Joe share the stage someday...

A fan on the Clapton site just mentioned that today is the anniversary of John Lee Hooker's passing.  I have to admit, I didn't know for a really long time of singing George Thoroughgood's One Bourbon, One Scotch and One Beer that John wrote it!!  I heard the book about Hooker, "Boogie Man" is excellent.  If you never saw the youTube of Bonnie and John Lee, In The Mood, check it out. tongue
