Re: SRV question

Just a side note, Doyle was on the bill at Joefest in Dallas back in 2004.  He played some of the songs that he wrote that SRV played.  Got to talk to him after the show, seemed to be a nice guy...

Re: SRV question

It seems there are so many songs I like that end up being from Doyle Bramhall. Is there a comprehensive list of songs written by him anywhere?

Re: SRV question

Rock n Roll with lipstick. big_smile Great description!  Bowie changed his outfit a few times that night, I seem to recall the leopard outfit with the platforms... I've always had a shoe thing, bought lots of platforms 'cause of Bowie. My parents use to tell me I looked like Carmen Miranda.  I have to admit, when I listen to the Ziggy lyrics sometimes, I think the 70's altered state of mind distorted all reality and his bizarre lyrics seem to make perfect sense.

Back to Stevie Ray- the MTV acoustic set is totally amazing...a Joe fan sent me a copy of it, I had never seen it before. What a talent!  I'm not sure if anyone mentioned, Bowie did offer Stevie a spot as a guitar player in his band after being dissed at Montreaux.

Also Carmin Rojas Joe's current bass player appeared on the Let's Dance album. The only Bowie album I own.

No. I never much cared for as John Lennon said. Rock n Roll with lipstick.

I wonder if the Lennon quote was before or after he did a duet with Bowie on the song Fame. As I've always heard it over the years, Stevie supposedly toured for 3 or 4 shows in support of Let's Dance, but had the same feeling as Lennon after being around Bowie's entourage & fans. Maybe Carmine has the straight info on this subject.
