I saw an interesting bit on a local news show the other day about all the small book stores that have managed to stay alive in spite of Borders and Barnes and Nobles. There are still a few out there and they are still alive and well, but unfortunately few and far between (kind of like a good camera store). The owners they interviewed for this piece are optimistic about their future - there are still a lot of us who want a physical book to hold and read, and that magazine section will be missed. Just curious, is Waterstone's still around in the UK? They had a store in Boston many years back and some very interesting stuff they had.
Hope the physical book doesn't go the way of vinyl and cd's - I love vinyl (thank goodness it is making a comeback), and I have a hard time imagining reading a bedtime story to a little kid from an e-reader - just not the same.

"There's a lot of people that are in so much of a hurry to be, I guess, to be famous or that they don't want to take the time to learn to play and do all that. They'd rather just knock it down off a computer and maybe get on a game show and get famous..That's fine if that's what you want to do.
