Agreed, totally AWESOME!! Thanks Rick and Fred and to everyone for sharing the music and their experience of this unique show.  Being a Pointer Sisters fan, Rock Candy served up some sweet treats; everything was smokin' & sizzlin' at the Baked Potato, and how cool to see Joe turn up the funk!!  wink

Anyone whose been reading the forum for a while will remember I use to quote a Pointer Sisters line to summarize my feelings about Joe's music. Im so excited and I just can't hide it!  It never gets old, Joe just keeps kicking it up another notch, which is only possible because Joe is a HUGE talent!  smile

So, when will Joe be a guest on Conan? cool Remember how Clapton use to be a casual stand in on Letterman?

meet and greets and at this show) my sense of him...Humble, yet grateful,

and maybe a little overwhelmed sometimes at the attention...

Anyways, Great show...Very fortunate to have been there..I will never forget it

Well said Rob, I am in 100% agreement, I've met Joe 4 times now (almost 5 but missed one due to traffic) I think he does not like the spotlight except when he's on stage, he even told me one time that he does not like all the attention.

I'm still buzzing from this show, the whole experience was one I'll never forget.

Totally agree guys. This was a side of him we just never get to see. Hanging with his buddies and just making music. This gig impressed me more than every show I've seen to date. Ace musicians just jamming and making it happen. Taking their spot for a bit, then a nod and back in the mix while another took off and ran the show. Bergman and Merritt holding it together so tightly it was unreal. They didn't miss a beat the whole night long. Arlan Oscar needs a huge pat on the back too. His work on the keys was spectacular. Did you catch the part where he was tapping on the delay springs for effects with the Moog, and the look Ron gave Joe at the end of his solo in Stratus when he kicked in his Aqua Puss and Leslie pedal and tore it up sounding just like  Jeff Beck!

When I saw him we were parked maybe 15 feet from the stage and that's the first time I saw him after he added Carmine and Rick to the band. It was a rockin' night to be sure! Get up to the Valley early and you can hit The Wine & Liquor Depot on Saticoy St. in Van Nuys.

So, at about 5:00 minutes joe clicks on a pedal ( delay ), wondering what that was.   Some other folks posted pics, but not a close up of the pedals used......anyone there that night know what Joe was using for pedals or have a close up shot?

I am so jealous! tongue   I enjoyed all your vids from the first show SO much, especially that groovy funky number I commented on (forget the title right now).  I guess I must continue to live vicariously through the tapers... much thanks to all of them!  Now we need someone to take a decent audio rig in there......  wink

If you can make it to LA on 08/18 you really really really should be heading over to The Baked Potato. Not only does the venue have a significant amount of character, Rock Candy Funk Party is out of this world! The last gig was a night that was simply too much fun for words. I am so bummed that I will be in Boston on the 18th, but that at least opens up my seat for someone else! Seriously peeps, be there. A word to the wise, watch the spud website for advance ticket sales. Sold out in advance last time and they had to turn people away at the door which is a bummer. Saying the spud is tiny would be an understatement. I do promise that the fans already lined up to go do not bite. Well, at least not most of them  big_smile

If there's some sort of vanpool, I might consider going.  I do have to work the next day so it will be a rough one and Renegade Creation (Robben Ford) is the following night as well.
