Re: Joe in a small club!

That would be fun, unfortunately I have to be out of town to support my two bad habits (eating and sleeping indoors).

I assume you and Helen will be in attendance.  Would love to see some video of that if you guys go

It will be tough. Brutal drive up on a mid week work day and surely not back 'till the wee hours since they'll close the club at near 2. That is north of LAX off the 101. I'm torn at the moment. I know she couldn't. hmm

Re: Joe in a small club!

It was posted on twitter. I believe it's mostly a private kinda party thing. Nothing to get excited over unless your in LA and on the guest list.

Re: Joe in a small club!

I would be ALL over that if I could!!!!!!!

Hey Joe,  How bout some Blues at BB Kings in NYC?

If you look up to the heavens just before the start of every Joe Bonamasaa concert you can see Stevie, Jimi, Muddy, Gary and others leaning over God’s railing jockeying for the best view.
And if you listen, you can hear Stevie say  “ SHHhhhh,  The kids about to start playing.”

Re: Joe in a small club!

Have fun Rick! From now on I think it will be very difficult to see Joe in that kind of setting. I got lucky myself about 4 or 5 years ago, catching him in a little bar in Phoenix called the Rhythm Room. I was in Tucson on business and a bud from Phoenix had a spare ticket. So you gotta drive 100 or more miles? No problemo amigo! When I saw him we were parked maybe 15 feet from the stage and that's the first time I saw him after he added Carmine and Rick to the band. It was a rockin' night to be sure! Get up to the Valley early and you can hit The Wine & Liquor Depot on Saticoy St. in Van Nuys. I can assure you that they will have a good selection of Islay whisky!  tongue

I never figured I'd have a chance to see him in a place this small again Amigo, well worth the 3 hour drive. For our friends across the pond, think Borderline.  I'll check out that place for the Islay, one can never have too much on hand. wink

Good decision Rick. Sure the drive is a pain but Joe in a small club with other top flight musicians???? No contest.

Oh so I'm a member of a Posse now am I??

Reminds me of this great joke:

The Lone Ranger was ambushed and captured by an Indian war party. The Indian Chief proclaims, 'So, you are the great Lone Ranger. In honor of the Harvest Festival, you will be executed in three days. But, before I kill you, I will grant you three requests. What is your first request? 'The Lone Ranger responds, 'I'd like to speak to my horse. 'The Chief nods and Silver is brought before the Lone Ranger, who whispers in Silver's ear and the horse gallops away.

Later that evening, Silver returns with a beautiful blonde woman on his back. As the Indian Chief watches, the blonde enters the Lone Ranger's tent and spends the night. The next morning the Indian Chief admits he's impressed. 'You have a very fine and loyal horse but I will still kill you in two days. What is your second request?' The Lone Ranger again asks to speak to his horse. Silver is brought to him, and he again whispers in the horse's ear. As before, Silver takes off across the plains and disappears over the horizon.

Later that evening, to the Chief's surprise, Silver again returns, this time with a brunette, even more attractive than the blonde. She enters the Lone Ranger's tent and spends the night. The following morning the Indian Chief is again impressed.' You are indeed a man of many talents but I still kill you tomorrow. What is your last request? 'The Lone Ranger responds, 'I'd like to speak to my horse....alone! .'The Chief is curious but he agrees and Silver is brought to the Lone Ranger's tent.

Once they're alone, the Lone Ranger grabs Silver by both ears, looks him square in the eye and says,'Listen very carefully you dumb **** horse. For the last time' . . . . "BRING POSSEEEE!!"

See you guys at the "spud"
