Topic: Worn out grooves???

I was thinking about albums that I have played most frequently over the years, albums that have been played enough to "wear out the grooves" (like most of us, I started out listening to vinyl). Albums that have been listened to hundreds of times.
Joe is one of two artists with multiple albums on my list. There's probably a few more albums that could make my list, but these are the first ones that came to mind:

Thanks for noticing Shred.
I'm a Beatles fan and originally had Abbey Road, Revolver and Rubber Soul in the running for my list. Although I listened to them alot, I realized they really belonged on the "B" list.

well i have to say the last time i listened to a studio cd or album was back in the late 70's once the 80's hit i got into live recordings and never listened to a studio thing since then . but back when i was listening to albums this is my list  if i remember lol.

jorma - jorma
jeff beck - blow by blow and there was another beck one can't remember the name
johnny winter - alive and with rick derringer that i played out alot
grateful dead -mostly everything they had out at the time
frampton- frampton comes alive
the who - mostly everything they had out at the time
robin trower - bridge a sighs
pink floyd- dark side of the moon and brick in the wall
kiss - but i forgot the name of the album
black sabbeth- bloddy sabbeth i think that was the name
i'm sure there are more but those were the ones i listened to the most am i giving away my age lol .joe

Bill S.- cool thread, I use to be a huge Steely Dan fan, didn't replace most of their stuff in CD format, so I don't listen to them that much. I'm especially fond of Led I and Aqualung and I'll throw in the Stones, Let It Bleed for something different to everyone's oldie list.  We all need someone we can lean on....

Shred-I knew I liked you from the start- CHEERS to Seargent Pepper-The Beatles changed the face of music forever.  Will always LOVE them and am still really partial to Rubber Soul since it was my first purchase of a record.

Lyn B.-Gotta second your most played JB...love them all, but both of these are the Holy Grail in my book, to borrow Stu's line. wink

Have to comment on Pink Floyd- Dark Side-  My kids know all the stats on the Dark Side of the Moon album, it still holds elite status among statistics. Saw Roger Waters Friday night...  in one word   AWESOME!!!  Any Pink Floyd fans-do not miss this tour!!!!  Especially if you didn't see the original tour in 1973 or if your kids are fans, etc.  It was great to see a ton of younger fans at the show.  Roger threw out the first pitch at the Phillies game next door to the arena Friday night...threw a strike to the Phillie Phanatic, everyone was saying what a great guy Roger is, stopped and sign autographs.  What an incredibly creative guy, the entertainment part of the show was fantastic! They added a second show by demand Saturday night...great talented band Roger is touring with. smile

This thread got me thinking back to the days of vinyl. What fun it was. Direct drive turntables with upgraded cartridges; variable speed settings adjusted so that the strobe light made the dots stand still; setting the counterweight just right; the ritualistic handling the records as they were placed on the turntable and the ceremonial cleaning of them; and the ever-so-carefully placing of the tone arm...and of course, copies of Firesign Theatre, Monty Python, and "A Child's Garden of Grass" at the ready...  wink
