Did your last shows start in time? (Page 1 of 2)

Joe is prompt.  I won't mention something somewhere, and the few know what I mean.  Joe was on time.
Joe starts promptly and he floors it.  Best be in your seat buckled or standing in place firmly or else....
Keep doing that Bill, you are right, they were warned.  It no longer bothers or concerns me that I get that "Yeah, right, neanderthal, I know better, all shows start late" look...to see them scurrying down the aisles when a song or 2 are over makes me snicker a bit, but hey, drinks and chatty posing are important too, maybe TOO important sometimes! 

Some of us had a perception Joe was starting at 8 in Las Vegas (I was passing it around too, mistakenly, sorry, misinformed was all, not trying to keep the bartenders happy, but I am sure they got a bit of business and hey, the show was right there, so no one missed a thing) when in fact it was 9!    Oops.

All shows I've been to this year started in time:

Henrik Freischlader, Timo Gross, Joanne Shawn Taylor in   Der Schwarzer Adler in Rheinberg, where  it ALWAYS starts on time!!
Joe in Antwerp too, he began at exactly 20.15 and a lot of people were still drinking in the lounge and came in too late. Joe is always on time too and that's the way it must be. A lot of people have to get home by train or bus.

errr....... my last show? ...... Doug was on time..... plus... he did an extra 20mins! 

For someone who hasn't owned or worn a watch for most of my life .... i use my inner clock, plus there's a presence of time all around us .... no excuses! IMO. Hay-Ho 

Saw Todd Wolfe a few weeks ago and the show started just as it was announced.
Sometimes the venues give no information whether the time they announce is the time they open the doors or the time the gig starts. And that are always the same venues. My opinion is that they want to sell a few beers more.
Never waited so long to get angry.
Last gig that started about 30-45 minutes late was at the Moulin Blues Festival in Ospel and it was Ian Siegal who missed a flight and a connection flight. During the waiting time you could feel that the atmosphere in the tent got more and more electric.

Haha, like BYTF?? No names but many will recognize the acronym.

Even the Allman Brothers Band starts on time. Nuff said!

Saw Rush in Dublin last thursday. They started 5 minutes after the stated showtime of 8pm. Perfectly acceptable of course but they didn't finish until 11.25pm. 3 hours 20 minutes. That's a show.

I know enough about Joe to know that he is strict about being on time, and doesn't like it when somebody's not.
