Some more acts added to the Gig Guide. Be aware that Pete Feenstra's been shuffling the pack and some of the previously listed gigs are now not happening or have been moved to different dates.

I hope all my London Gig Buddies will have the stamina for three consecutive nights out in October. It's just as well Joe's Saturday show at Hammersmith will be a sit down.  lol

Hey Phil, was looking to come down to London on the Thursday anyway so Chantel playing is a bonus. Thanks for the heads up. My sister will be chuffed too (she stays in London so I don't need hotel). It's a win win for me  smile

A little bird (called Chantel) told me about the gig at the 100 Club on the 20th.  wink I'm sure Chantel won't mind me mentioning it here ahead of a formal announcement. I wonder who else might be there that night.  wink

Is that the Scottish "stays in London", ie your sister lives in London?

Yes Phil, my sister stays in London in New Eltham. When she was up in Aberdeen I took her along to see Chantel and she was blown away. The 3 of us spoke at the gig and then my sis saw her in London 2 weeks later and Chantel remembered her. I should have asked Chantel of her Scottish roots - must have them with a name like McGregor.

We will be at the RFH gig (see you there) and the October dates but I'll also be down for High Voltage. Not unusual for me to be in London 4-5 times a year. It would be more if I could afford it.

I remember that gig. It was at The Castle in Finchley and I remember thinking "there's dedication for you" when I heard your sister say to Chantel across the room that she'd seen her in Aberdeen recently.  smile

It's a small world Phil, that's for sure. Haven't arranged any of my flights yet because what usually happens is that a gig I would go to gets announced after I book a flight and that's me scuppered. But I can't wait too long as the prices go waaaaayyy up. We don't all work in the oil business up here  smile Might go to Nils Lofgren, Cadogan Hall on 2 June.

Am I allowed to say that it's only 30 days until I see Joe in Paris?

24PESOS bring us a night of blues infested music and playing special tribute to the great Muddy Waters.  Muddy was born 4 April, 1913, so what better time to pay homage to one of the greatest blues musicians in history.

The band features the blistering guitar, vocal and harmonica of Julian Burdock. As a sideman Julian has played with many great artists including Pee Wee Ellis, Fred Wesley, Beverly Knight, Jocelyn Brown. Silas Maitland holds down the low end on his 62 P-Bass!- playing credits include Geno Washington, Son of Dave, Marcus Malone, Imelda May and The Blues Brothers.

On greasy Hammond B3 is Moz Gamble of Paul McCartney, Paloma Faith, The Flash Monkey, Ian Segal. Behind the drum kit is the raw and funky feel of Mike Connolly the Boogie Worm.




2011 is set to be a great year for 24Pesos with the release of the new album Busted Broken and Blue. The band will hit the road once more to bring the infectious energy of their electrifying live shows to festivals and venues throughout Europe and the UK.

Not sure whether it's been mentioned but Tony McPhee's mighty Groundhogs play the Borderline tomorrow night, 15th April. supported by the superb Jay Tamkin Band - should be great and a chance to support Tony McPhee, recovering from a recent stroke.........Jay Tamkin on stage at 7.55pm!!

Yes, it's on the list Simon. I was thinking about going to this as I haven't seen the Groundhogs for over 40 years  yikes  and I  rate Jay very highly. Unfortunately, work's getting in the way at the moment and I may have to miss Oli on Sunday for the same reason.  mad
