Thanks for the kind feedback so far guys. Happy to give a rig rundown:
Guitar - Fender USA Stratocaster with Lollar "Dirty Blonde" pickup set - whole song on the neck pickup only.
Recorded through Amplitube 3.5 on my Mac (via Behringer UC6102 Guitar-PC USB interface). Amplitube model used was the "Custom Modern Hi-Gain" (100W 6L6 Tube Lead channel) via 4x12 Closed Modern cabinet sim.
Sorry conorb, no mics in this case, but I do have a nice SM57 that I use to mic up my Boogie MkIIB from time to time. Just not on this particular take.
I basically used Amplitube as an AU add in on one channel of Logic Studio to bring the guitar feed in.
Oh yeah, the acoustic guitar on the rhythm backing was my Maton ECW80C also via Amplitube using the "British Modern Vintage" amp sim.
Drums were EzDrummer as an AU plug in, using the basic 4/4 Ballad presets from their "Songwriters Pack". Some slight modification to the MIDI patterns, but not much.
Other tracks (Violins and Cellos) were SampleTank 2.5 sound samples, also as an AU plug in, driven using my MIDI keyboard.
That's about it - everything else was pretty much stock standard Logic Studio processing. Didn't use any of their built in effects etc. though.
Oh, I did use one third party plug in called MAGNETIC in the final mix down in order to give the whole track, and especially the guitar parts a nice warm 'tape' sound and remove a lot of the digital 'coldness'.
I am happy to answer any other questions - just let me know what information you need.
