C'mon, Rick...with the M&G, dinner with the diehards, pit photopass, decent seats, and the show, I may not even need a designated driver...perhaps will 'catapult' directly home as I get ejected into deep orbit after the encore...and yes I am taking a 'change' of clothes a.k.a Dust Bowl 'T' once I hit the venue lol

My boss has seen absolutely no productivity from me at the office today.... wink

You will probably be able to get your shirt during the meet & greet. We did in Anaheim. May get a couple more tonight. Can never have too many!!

Just so your boss doesn't read that!!  lol

Re: Reading 3-23

No kidding, I've gotten barely anything done in the last few days, and took today completely off. Got my Dust Bowl T on already, getting set to leave to dump the younger kid at the babysitter in about an hour and a half, and then I'm on my way. I'd much rather get there an hour early than miss the M&G deadline!

Weather.com says no snow in Reading until after midnight (whereas yesterday is said possibly around 10pm), so hopefully we'll be good on the way home! (My car - a big 'ole Chrysler 300C - is THE WORST in snow...) Fortunately we're coming from the south so snow is less likely. Just drizzling here in Baltimore.

Now I gotta prepare my little speech for Joe to explain the gift I'm giving him... will post about it later.

WE ARE GOING TO ROCK! And all my other non-JB-o-holic friends will have even more fuel for their insanity case against me.

What's this? You haven't had Joeshirts on at work this week? Let's get with the program! I even have guest Joecoffeecups at work. Oh, and any bets on how many pictures Manoj gets off once the band starts playing? tongue  lol Have fun folks, I vicariously will be living the dream again when the reports come in. Say hi to George for me. 2 1/2 months to go here. big_smile

Sorry Rick, you're gonna be disappointed....I need to enjoy the show as well!!! After the pitpass 3 song-bit, will rest the camera and pull out only for guitar changes....I had a bit of an accident with my zoom lens, so the 18-55 is it.....and Pauly, don't worry there is no snow...the venue is gonna get so hot like a nuclear reactor (sorry Japan.....had to throw that one in) that the road's gonna be smooth for miles.... tongue OK folks, time to sign off. The 'Slow Train' has left the station......

Manoj doesn't know about guitar changes.  lol (for Bonavirgins, about 10 seconds!) Example? Here's the opening trio from San Diego I shot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLumTARVC-g (my Joemovie) if I'd stopped and restarted, music would have been missed!

Well Rick, if you arrange to call in to someone else while I'm calling Cathy, they can hold the cells together and we can say hi.  lol

Sadly, it looks like I'll be waiting till October for this band, though I'll catch BCC in the summer.

Manoj - Rick meant precisely that - you wouldn't be able to concentrate on photography while undergoing ritual Bonabaptism! The first three numbers will already be hard enough!  wink

If anyone attending happens to access this via one of those fancy mobile jobs, PLEASE ask Cathy to switch her phone ON.  roll

Thanks.  wink

Anyone attending tonight ought to head to the Ugly Oyster Pub on 5th Street before the show! Let the Good Times Roll!

Re: Reading 3-23

Sorry G  cool  I did remember in time...right?
WHAT A SHOW!!! Jane has the set list, but I think it's the same. I have never seen them all so happy! Carmine and Tal play off each other, then Joe lights up and joins in, and it's a joy to watch. I also give big props to the crowd. They were in it from the first note. Many standing O's, applause and freq. "shout outs", but well timed. I had a little chuckle thinking about how this would have gone over in Europe. You are all so polite.  big_smile
Things are different without Bogie. Tal is "more". I don't know how else to put it. Things are ramped up in the drum/bass area. No better/worse, just more. I was much more aware of the bass/drums than in the past. At the same time, Rick came thru loud and clear, and steady on the money. I just love these guys!!! Tal is a happy spirit and talented beyond words! Carmine is back! Dancing, singing along, sparring with Joe and Tal, and looking mighty good!
To regress for a minute, Jane and I were fortunate and went to the meet and greet. Joe was his usual, gracious self. (Have I mentioned how much I love this guy?) Watching him interact and really care. I witnessed another act of kindness for a fan recovering from illness. I firmly believe Joe's magic is connected to his humanity. Enough gushing...
The Bonamasses convened at a local eatery and it was a wonderful pre-show warm up. I'm so happy to have met new fans as well as visited with "Old" Bonabuddies. Angela, it was about time we met face to face! Big hugs. The worst time of the evening was walking back to the venue in sleet and lightening!! I mean really?? Either one would have been miserable! Of course, I also got lost and walked a few streets that Joe later alluded to having been warned to avoid! Oh goody! But I got a chance to say Hi to Colin and Aaron during my journey, which was nice. I also got a quick wave to Sandi as she was standing off stage. At least I know why Joe's so happy  wink
Thanks to all for such a good time. Now the post show depression!! One show is not enough!!! I feel the shakes coming on....Cathy

Re: Reading 3-23

Great show! I'll post more later, I'm going on about 2hrs sleep coming off the Bona-high! Joe was awesome, and is such a gentleman, I can't say enough good things about him. I've got about 1000 pictures to sort through, I'll he happy if I get 50 good ones... my camera was struggling a bit with those conditions. Getting to be up right at the stage for the first three songs was so much fun! Even if I have no idea what he was playing big_smile and even if none of the shots come out well, it was totally cool just to be up there. But of course the pictures I care most about are the ones of me and my wife with Joe. The music was tremendous as you all know; Great Flood and Mountain Time were the highlights for me, but it was all good! Dust Bowl and Slow Train are COMPLETELY different how he does them live, as was John Henry.

Met some great folks - Manoj, Jane, Cathy, Vicki, John ... sorry I'm sure I won't remember everyone's names, but Joe has an awesome fan base, the old phrase "judge a man by the company he keeps" comes to mind.

Ok, time for more coffee while I wait for the damn slow card reader to load all those pics...

All I can say is....MY HEAD HAS EXPLODED in a good way.....just logging in from home to tell the boss I'm going to be late, long ride back. When my auditory senses come back to life, I will post some 'post-show' thoughts later in the day. All I can say is this......in my 30+ odd years of watching many artists perform, this was the BEST DAMN SHOW I've been to. I have been baptized!!!! lol  lol

That's what we like to hear! Have you retrieved your jaw yet?  big_smile

I managed to hear a couple of minutes of distortion before Cathy's phone died.  roll  But, it's the thought that counts and I was thrilled to exchange a few words with Angela.

So pleased that y'all had a great time, despite the nasty weather!  cool

Re: Reading 3-23

It was one spectacular night all around!!

He really does get better and better and better!! I can't even compare this to the first show I saw less than a year ago. There is honestly no comparison whatsoever. This guy is on a whole new level as an artist in every way.

It was great to meet so many new faces too. I didn't even get to talk to everyone there were so many. We did meet up with Manoj as we got out of the car in the parking garage. A second later we met Pauly T and his wife. Then we met Jane and Cathy at the meet & greet. Had some beers with Rudy and his friend. Saw Don and Jocelyn there as well.

We then handed out the flyers at the door to all who came in. It was a lot of fun too!! Speadin the word!!!

Anyway, time to get crackin here. Tired but none too worse for the wear and tear  hmm

I'm so sorry that I missed out on the meet and greet as well! sad We had brought along a friend who had never seen Joe before and needless to say it was fun to watch his jaw drop! Hehehehe! Can you say "convert"? LOL.

I was able to get some decent shots last night that I posted on Joe's Facebook. I'll probably be adding more soon...

Re: Reading 3-23

Another FANTASTIC show last night!!!!  Everytime I see Joe, I feel like he kicks it up a notch, in reality, HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE???  Biggest noticeable change to me is where Joe is taking his voice!! Holy **&&^%%$%^^, how about the Great Flood! The hubby's comment on the the new drummer, Tal, he's a beast!!! (that's a compliment)

It was great meeting fans at the restaurant, THANKS again to Manoj for his efforts.  We sat right across from each other and Manoj was the last person to get his food, ironic huh?

We should have had name tags, who can remember all those names.  But for those sitting close to me at the restaurant, it was GREAT to meet everyone, especially Cathy and Jane, along with Manoj's friend, Vikki, PaulyT, Eileen, the other Paul and Beverly, Tim...Don and Jocelyn down the line and met Rudy in the lobby.. Its not hard to understand WHY Cathy & Jane are so loved, they are awesome...Cathy, you are a hoot, thanks for the laughs!!  George, you got your hands full there.  wink And George it was great speaking to you.

As far as Bonavirgins:  I have to mention PaulyT's wife, Eileen.  She sat 2 people over in my row, her first response was "GOOSEBUMPS" and at the end her response was, "ITS THE BEST CONCERT I'VE EVER BEEN TO!!"  Now, how is that for a Bonabaptism! I saw Manoj at the end of the show, I think he was numb, everything was still setting in...he was slightly speechless! big_smile

I'm not sure who all was listening at the restaurant, but I was going thru my Joe history rundown of how I uncovered him through my hubby, the first little club we went to and all that detail and surmised that like that Frank Sinatra song...I Did It My Way, it reminded me of Joe.  And the end of the concert, Ha...the first song that came on was Frank Sinatra's, "I DID IT MY WAY."   cool

Love you Joe, you are the BEST of the BEST!!!   smile  smile  smile  smile  smile

And how's this for a great concert week to compliment Joe, I have 1 day to recover and I'm off to see Jeff Beck perform the Les Paul tribute Friday night.  Life Is Good!!
