Topic: My tunes....

I put this in Other Artists, but I'll put it here too. I'm finally posting some tunes up here. I want to know what you guys think. Remember, we recorded it all in one take. And I really wish I hadn't wanked all over King Bee (sorry big jeff   wink   ). All except King Bee are originals. And I eventually will post a Bona-forum songwriting collaboration between myself and Mr. Nic Bongers soon. smile So here we go!

Re: My tunes....

I think it sounds pretty good man. You have a nice voice and some good chops. I'd try to smooth out your playing and tone a little bit. It's a little too trebly for my tastes. Overall its some good stuff.

Re: My tunes....

Yeah, the recording didn't really capture my tone very well. I agree that the treble is too much. In person, it's a lot better. Thanks a bunch!  smile

Re: My tunes....

Great tunes and great voice, too.  Production values a little wanting, but I think you got something good going on Deezer!

Re: My tunes....

I liked King Bee, I listened to I Don't Worry its pretty good too.  King Bee kind of reminded me of 60's british rock like early Yardbirds or something like that.  Very good for a first release.  Writing had strong points in it but my only advice is to continue to write new material, when I started writing (not saying anything I've written is any good or any better then your stuff) I got to the point where I would write every day even if I didn't pickup a guitar.  Maybe an idea, or maybe a riff or anything.   I'm still writing but not as much anymore, because now I got to learn all this stuff.  I wrote for a year so I have over 300 songs I've written and some are better then others but now I'm going back and trying to polish and learn this stuff.  Thats what my plan is I hope to release something next year but who knows.  The point is don't stop writing your on the right track.  Good Luck!

You singing?

The KWS tone is pretty good on King Bee. I like it muchos.

Really can't wait to hear the new songs from their humble beginnings.  cool

I wish I could claim King Bee, but it's a cover of Kenny Wayne Shepherd's cover of a Muddy Waters tune. It's on his new Live In Chicago. Killer track. I'm really trying to write a lot, got a bunch of riffs down, just need to sit down and finish them. And I do agree on the production, we just recorded something quickly during a soundcheck before a show. As long as shows what we're doing when we're trying to book gigs, I'm cool. Thanks for the kind words!!!

Yep, that's me. That slow song we worked on has come along really nicely. The solo has a very Clapton on Old Love feel. I'm still trying to work out the other one. Glad you dug it my brother!  smile

Re: My tunes....

your playing and singing is good.....as you have already admitted and realize the recording is not very good.  but no shame in that all bro.....keep it up and keep posting stuff for us to hear.

Re: My tunes....

I like your playing and your singing, the recording could be better but its not bad. Only critic I could give you is clean up your solos a bit, a few to many notes, think more is less when it comes to soloing. I am only pointing this out to you because I have the same problem.

I really agree. I seem to do that when I'm warming up. We were basically doing a soundcheck while we were recording these, and we basically just set up and started playing. I think you can tell as time goes on and I get warmed up, I start to smooth it out. For instance, we started out with King Bee, and I believe this is my worst playing. We just went into it, and I just shredded all over it. Big Jeff would be ashamed.  tongue Then we did I Don't Worry, and it was better, but still a little rough. Then we were just jamming a bit, and came up with the instrumental, and now I'm getting warmed up. By Unrequited Love, I'm warmed up, and I think you can tell by my playing. Much smoother, much more in the groove. I'm the type of guy that likes a smoother style of playing, but until I get warmed up, I just don't do it.  lol I really like the feedback you guys are giving me, it's basically telling me that what I'm hearing is pretty dead on. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. smile
