I really agree. I seem to do that when I'm warming up. We were basically doing a soundcheck while we were recording these, and we basically just set up and started playing. I think you can tell as time goes on and I get warmed up, I start to smooth it out. For instance, we started out with King Bee, and I believe this is my worst playing. We just went into it, and I just shredded all over it. Big Jeff would be ashamed.
Then we did I Don't Worry, and it was better, but still a little rough. Then we were just jamming a bit, and came up with the instrumental, and now I'm getting warmed up. By Unrequited Love, I'm warmed up, and I think you can tell by my playing. Much smoother, much more in the groove. I'm the type of guy that likes a smoother style of playing, but until I get warmed up, I just don't do it.
I really like the feedback you guys are giving me, it's basically telling me that what I'm hearing is pretty dead on. You have no idea how much I appreciate it.
