From last years Chenango Blues Fest. This gig was just up the street from where Tom and I saw Tab Benoit last summer.

Interesting timing.

Chris released a new CD on October 25, which is currently enroute from amazon to my house.  Hope to receive it in the next few days.  I've heard very good things about it.

P.S.  Joe also gave Chris love on his twitter page today.

So Mr. Bonamassa... I presume you already had a listen to the new recording.  Your thoughts?

Chris's new CD "So Many Miles" arrived yesterday.  If you are looking for kick a$$ power rockin blues, then this ain't for you.  In fact, after 2 listens, I kind of think of this as a jazz/funk recording with blues/jazz guitar leads.  Clearly, Chris's technical ability and clarity of notes in his guitar playing validate Joe's comments about Chris being one of his infulences.
Can't say I'm a huge fan of the lyrics, but I mostly listen to music for the guitar playing anyway.
The CD is produced by Patrick Ford and co-produced by Robben Ford so their influences are heard throughout.  Robben plays rythem guitar on most of the tracks.
Larry Carlton is a special guest on the track "East Foothill Fingerprints", which is a very jazz guitar kind of tune.  I would have thought for a minute while listening to this song that it was Lee Ritenour playing with Chris.
Overall, I do like the recording.  Probably something I will have playing in the background with a group of friends over for dinner.

I have had the pleasure of opening up for Chris and his band (KILLER BTW  ) and jamming with him. More than a talented guitarist and singer he is such a nice guy to sit and chat with. He really does appreciate his fans. He is a guy along side of Joe who needs to be on the Blues Cruise.....    Just in my opinion of course.

I didn´t notice him up to now. Great guitar and singing (yes, he really sounds like BB King). Thanks, Jeff, for sharing.

I helped organize a local Blues & Brews Fest last July that Tommy Castro headlined. Just last week Chris Cain sought out my friend Sheila who books the acts for the Fest asking to participate this coming year. We're thinking about Tommy headlining again and his mgt. has penciled in the date, but we'd love to get Chris also, but he's asking for for too much money, but said he could work around our budget. Would be an awesome lineup with the two of them and the locals we have. More shall be revealed.....as they say. Coincidentally Tommy & Chris were born 5 months apart in 1955 in San Jose, Ca.,......Hmmmmm.

We saw Chris Cain for the first time this weekend up in Pennsylvania. Wow! I can definitely see why Joe likes him! He did an absolutely killer version of "Sweet Sixteen" His keyboardist, Greg Rahn, is phenomenal as well. We talked with Chris after the show. We told him we followed Joe and he just went on and on about how nice of a guy Joe is. And how he was so blown away by Joe tweeting about him. He said, "I just want to hug him so hard I'd probably break his neck" lol! He said he had first met Joe at a festival when Joe was about 14. He had thought at the time, who is this kid with a tour bus, lol! It was pretty funny. He doesn't come around the east coast very often, so we are going to see him again tonight in Annapolis.

Here is his whole show in PA. I like this venue because we can always get good seats, the sound is excellent and the drive is pretty stress free, but they really need to do something about their lighting. The video would look so much better if they didn't have those darn pink and purple lights. Oh well, I guess you can't have everything
