Re: What about Chris Cain?

I put Chris on my list of under-appreciated guitarists. Phenomenal player! One of the purist tones I've ever heard.

I like this funky little number apparently from the same gig: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-Ve1TLy … re=related

He also has a wonderful, quirky personality.

Re: What about Chris Cain?

Thanks Lee.  He also sings his behind off.  Two of my friends thaought he was a soul brother.  I said he is.

I saw Chris a couple years back at a local blues club. I didn't know him at the time, but REALLY enjoyed the show. Here's my post show post:

Hi Jeff, yes I like Mr Cain. Is there any word on a new album yet?  It's been 7 years!

I don't know Duncan.  I don't know how he even makes a living; maybe guesting or studio work.  He doesn't do a lot of touring...and I don't know anyone who does know.  sad

He's unique in his field.  I've seen him make a hard rock crowd go Wow and start grooving to a different genre when he starts up his blues.

Hope he's OK

You would think that a man with that much talent and great stage presence could do well. He sure makes that 335 sing on that yt link. Very impressive.

His website shows a pretty active tour schedule.  It would be cool if he came down to SoCal.  Love his playing.

Chris Cain is from San Jose, CA. and may be living in the Santa Cruz area. Serious Blues and guitar / vocals.

Check out one of his songs called "Her middle name is Trouble"!

"So much music, so little time."

Re: What about Chris Cain?

Chris Cain is one my primary traditional blues influences.. He is one of the best kept secrets in the Blues.. I hate that term too..  He should be going mental at the moment.  He is so slick and tasteful its totally ace.  Check him out.. I have everyone one of his albums.

Re: What about Chris Cain?

Unscheduled Flight, from 1997, is a fantastic album that oozes class - Cain is clearly a guitarists guitarist, as many other great players rate him highly..................
