I have a Flextone II XL amp if I want a good sounding solid state amp with not a lot of balls.
Nic, Lance is the kind of guy that will not settle for anything without at least 6 pairs of raging balls. He stands behind the design and tone and he would not do otherwise unless he fully believed in it. I Texas-vouche for Lance's opinion! I am saving up for one for sure.
Also, is it really har to believe that an amp like this could be built? After all, the vast majority of our favorite overdrive units are SS, and a good chunk of them full analog! I am just mad at Crate for never taking the time to come up with a decent SS circuit.
I think the price being under 1000 is justified, considering it is a small builder.
