I have a series 1 SD30. Before it, I've owned Dumble Clones, Mesas, racks, digital modelers... This is the first amp in over 10 years that has stuck around. It's just incredible and SIMPLE. I don't like the PHAT 12s at all, but through either my Marshall 1960bx or my 1x12 with a Peavey XXX speaker (it actually sounds really good), the Budda is delicious. I run the clean clean channel with the bright switch on, gain at about 11:00, and eq all at 12:00. When i really bang on it, the clean channel starts to bite. Roll the volume back to 8 on the guitar, it's nice and clean. Add a fuzzface or something on top, and it's sonic glory. And that's just the clean channel. Switch to the drive channel and look out.
Oh, do the volume balance mod... even if not for the balance. It opens up the drive channel some, makes it less low-mid heavy. At least it did with me.
