Another great guitarist who is a really nice guy as well. Speaking of DVD's, Chris has a limited edition DVD that was filmed with a single stationary camera from about the third row in Sendai, Japan in January 2006 that's fantastic. He's backed by the Japanese blues rock band Bluestone, who were formerly known as The Savoy Truffle before their vocalist left. Amazing stuff, almost 3 hours worth, and the two guitarists mesh wonderfully together, leading to some intricate dual lead lines. The material covered is a mixture of Chris's and Savoy Truffle's, and is at times more hard rock based(ala Gov't Mule) than Duarte's usual fare, but great nonetheless. Quality is really good, but as I said it's only a single camera so there aren't any cuts, fades or closeups. But the music speaks for itself, despite the reserved reception from the Japanese crowd. Seriously, I think there was a stretch of an hour where there was no movement whatsoever from the patrons, so perhaps reserved is being too lenient! But, the music smokes, and if you can handle just watching a band play without big time video production this comes highly recommended. Sound is great, from the soundboard, and the house music playing right before the band begins is Joe's version of "You Upset Me Baby".
