Hey-NPB-we're dead giveaways on our age, just on commenting on Stevie Winwood. I was so ticked off at a dj, David Dye of the World Cafe, to be exact. One day he referred to Stevie as disco Steve for a couple of things he did in the 80's. Based on other comments this dj has made, he finds the disco age offensive, whereby I didn't! It had its moments and brought tons of people out to clubs, socializing and dancing...When you look at Winwood's whole body of work, personally, I just thought it was uncalled for. At the same time, you are right, many artists moved to a different beat in the 80's! I have to admit I was really surprised at something Stevie did most recentlly. He appears on Christine Aguliera's new CD and does a spin on "Glad" from a very classic Traffic album, John Barleycorn. My daughter has the CD, and as good as Christine's voice is, I'm not too crazy about her and almost fainted when I heard Stevie on there!! My sons were abusing him, calling Steve a sellout...blah, blah, blah....it was a painful defense on my part, but musicians have to keep earning a living, their families get accustomed to a certain life style...weak defense, I know. And, don't pick on George...he went through some stages in his music career...

I had no idea (at the time) Steve Winwood of the 80's was the Blind Faith Steve Winwood.
"dont you know what the night can do" etc.
Same thing with George Harrison - a Beatle?
"I got my mind set on you" etc..
the 80's.....the 80's....
Although I'm only a couple years younger than Joe, thank god the 80's are over
