Re: Victoria Theater, Dayton Ohio!

I believe it would be a good way Joe could let us keep something from a small venue setting. The DVD may not contain a song from my show, but it's still an intimate DVD.
I would think production costs would not be that huge. The footage may be more raw, but if it's clear & steady footage, I'm cool with that.
Because Joe is an articulate, great player, his live shows really stand out. That's what is impressive about him. He plays that great live.......L Zep wasnt very good live alot of the time. We all make jokes sometimes about Frampton ''Come Alive''.....handed out with samples of Tide in the suburbs.....but it is a great album, as is Seger's ''Live Bullet''. Frampton did that album in one night!. Seger's album was a one nighter....a night when the monitors were working well for his ear. This was the 70's era of flash & flare & big stadiums. .....Enough rock history has come and gone, & it's time to come full circle & return to the small club theme of artists being real. We no longer like flashy pretentious rock gods..... We are all desperate in this fast pace world full of selfish nasty people....except all you out there of course..... desperate....for our heros to be human, approachable, and sincere...at least I do..... Joe captures this in the small venues.
Do I make sense....rambling and ranting... >>DAN
PS.... I am a guitar player, & that's my focus at a show, but Joe's voice really caught my attention at the Victoria....As I reviewed the show in my head walking out to talk to my friends & family, his singing floated to the surface, and his electric version of Bird on a  Wire.

Re: Victoria Theater, Dayton Ohio!

This was my first time seeing Joe, and I thought he was fantastic.  In addition to the music, I appreciated the impeccable attention to detail and showmanship - e.g., that he started the set at exactly 8:00 PM.

The theremin definitely stood out for me (I was staring at it before the show started wondering if that's indeed what it was), as did the Dazed and Confused infusion into Just Got Paid.

I went to the concert on a last minute impulse - I was studying for a Monday morning final and was absentmindedly wondering when Joe would next be in the area since I've always wanted to see him but never had the opportunity.  Well, I got my chance, and though I mailed in my effort on my 8am final the next morning, it was 100% worth it.

Welcome to the forum Santanj. Perhaps the instructor will give you extra credit if you give a gift of a JB cd.  smile One more coinkydink in the string of new fans finding Joe and his music.
