Re: A fan of Joe B - Check him out
jamsearch, i've heard/seen malmsteen using tapping to play blues (well, at least he was trying to). was it well done? of course, the notes were ok. did it sound well? no, sir. definitely not.
I've never been a malmsteen fan so I take your word for it. I think blues music has a little different meaning for everyone. I think it should be pushed to the limit like say SRV or Hendrix, or Joe B or Led Zep or Pink Floyd etc. Blues would be boring to me if it was limited or confined in a box. I definitely respect your opinion, everyone likes what he or she likes.
I posted the links to Sam Coulson's (that even sounds like a bluesman, lol) videos because I wanted to turn people on to a great player. I think a lot of people do like him especially after reading some of the comments on his page. He is frequently rated as one of the top viewed musicians on YouTube. I'm sure someday soon you will hear his name again. It's cool to see a natural player like him develop as it happens. I will keep watching him. Maybe soon he will open for Joe B. That to me would be a great show.
