After all the Blah-Blah business as usual.
Not much overtaking, attrition deciding the eventual result. As always with these first flyaway races it is a question of 'being there', as in the film of the same name. To finish first, first you have to finish. Vettel lucked out, this time and Alonso Mass and Hamilton profited as a result.
Worrying aspect is that Alonso admitted although he could run with him there was no way to pass off line. Button said the same as he was hunched up behind Scumacher with Webber behind him.
When will the powers that be realise that aerodynamic efficiency does NOTHING for the sport and it isn't what we are interested in? Technical excellence by all means but achieve that with greater mechanical grip and less downforce on the cars.
Since when did anyone buy a Mercedes because of it's aerodynamic effciency?
But then again this is F1, a sport which exists in a parellel universe with no relation to reality. Shame I like it. I shall remain optimistic that one day it will return to the values of earliers times. Huge recylable tyres, and aerodynamic aids whose prinicple purposes is for displaying sponsorship logos, less braking efficiency with powerful engines that run frugally on bio fuels. Now whose living in a parellel universe........
