Does anybody else think it's odd that Jason has not yet acknowledged Derek Sherinian as a member of the group?  Joe & Glenn's video message had also mentioned the word trio, but that was from last Nov so I thought maybe that was the original intention but it had since developed into a foursome.  But then in Jason's recent Spinner interview he only mentioned Joe and Glenn and he actually used the word trio.  I was beginning to think my line-up info was wrong, or that maybe Derek was only guesting on a couple songs that required keys or something, until Kevin Shirley confirmed the foursome, and I think I'm gonna believe Kevin.  But Jason has been interviewed since then and he still doesn't mention Derek.  Wonder what's up with that? hmm  Think Jason didn't get the memo? tongue

A bit of a stretch as a marketing ploy perhaps. As I stated 100's of posts ago, super groups are a thing that went out of vogue with Blind Faith, who were the first I recall being touted as such.  They did not last long. The roadsides are littered with short-lived, high hope projects.  So sales, popularity, and longevity usually don't pan out as "super". But the Group talent is absolutely worthy of the "Super" part of the moniker in this case,  Anyone following any one of these guys has to have at least nominal curiosity.  Following all has to be something an excitable person gets excited about...
And some of those short-lived high hopes projects are my favorites across several styles of music.

There's a history of Joe playing with / for other artists, and I don't see this as anything different. Hell, I'm sure he gets a blast from playing with other high calibre musicians, wouldn't you! I don't see this as ending his current lineup with Bogie, Carmine and Rick, more a chance for him to stretch, have some fun and make some money out of doing just that.

I've donated coin to them all and they all faded to relative obscurity.  Asia was a stinker (and I SO wanted them to be better than they were to me, I kept listening over & over but...) IMHO. Wilbury's I have it all and still get a kick.  A lot of cannon fodder amongst them all. 
The Firm kind of bummed me calling it quits though...
